Bundaberg Speedway Karts is more than just a club. Weโre a small family of like-minded people brought together by a shared love for a sport that means so much to us.
Following yesterdayโs accident involving one of our own members, we wanted to provide an update to our members, fellow clubs and the wider karting community.
Weโre very relieved to share that Zach is home from hospital. He is understandably very sore, but is now recovering in the comfort of his own home surrounded by family.
Since beginning his karting journey, Zach has made some very special friendships within our racing community. We know there were many friends, families and fellow competitors concerned about him yesterday, so we hope this update reaches everyone who has been thinking of him.
Bundaberg Speedway Karts, together with the Cruse family, would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation and thanks to the First Responders, volunteers, race officials, fellow competitors, club members and everyone who stepped in to help. Your support not only helped Zach and his family during an incredibly frightening moment, but also helped reassure and comfort the children and others who witnessed the accident.
Incidents like these can happen in the blink of an eye. Motorsport comes with risks every time we climb into the seat of a kart, but itโs a sport we all share an incredible passion for. Yesterday was a reminder of just how important the people beside the track are, and how quickly our racing community comes together when one of our own needs help.
The Cruse family has also asked that if anyone has any footage of Zachโs accident, could you please send it directly to the family or through to Bundaberg Speedway Karts. Zach himself has asked to see any and all footage available so he can better understand what happened.
Once again, from Bundaberg Speedway Karts and the Cruse family, thank you to every single person who supported Zach, his family and their friends yesterday. The care, compassion and support shown is exactly what makes this racing community so special.
Wishing you a speedy recovery, Zach. ๐๐
We canโt wait to see you back around the track when youโre ready.

๐ 2025/26 Presentation Night & AGM ๐
Last night we came together to celebrate our 2025/26 Presentation Night and Annual General Meeting.
Unfortunately, with the lack of home track racing this season due to the weather, there werenโt enough race meetings to fairly determine overall season point winners. Instead, the committee chose to do something a little different.
Every racing member was presented with a Sportsmanship Award, along with a personalised certificate recognising either one of their biggest achievements throughout the season or a unique quality that the committee believes makes them such a valued part of our club. While not everyone was able to attend, it was wonderful to see those who were present accept their awards with genuine smiles.
Our club may be small, but it is built on the dedication of volunteers who give up countless hours behind the scenes to keep Bundaberg Speedway Karts running. None of this would be possible without the unwavering support of our membersโ families, friends, volunteers and supporters who are there rain, hail or shine.
To everyone who helps set up, pack away, volunteers their time, travels to race meetings, cheers from the sidelines, or simply lends a hand whenever itโs neededโthank you. Your support is the backbone of our club, and we are incredibly grateful for everything you do.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to each and every one of our sponsors from the Double Header recently held. Your generosity and support have played a vital role in keeping our club running and allowing us to continue providing opportunities for our members to race. We are incredibly grateful for your commitment to Bundaberg Speedway Karts and encourage our members and supporters to show their appreciation by supporting the businesses that support our club.
Hereโs to another fantastic season ahead. We look forward to seeing both familiar and new faces trackside in the 2026/27 season! ๐๐

Congratulations to everyone who competed in yesterdayโs Sugar Coast Clash 20/20 at Carina Speedway!
It was fantastic to see such competitive racing across all classes, with great sportsmanship and plenty of close racing throughout the day.
A special congratulations goes to Arabella Davidson, who ran in a Midget kart yesterday. Your confidence and improvement grew with every session, and it was wonderful to watch your progress. We look forward to seeing you back at the track and turning plenty more laps in the near future.
