Welcome to Kotahi Yoga - an inclusive space inviting you to come and find your place in our community I am very much both a student and a teacher.

Kia Ora, my name is Kym - I am a Kiwi living in Queensland sharing Yoga. As a teacher I will guide you through meditation, movement and relaxation in each class you spend with me. I will sprinkle in a little culture from home and invite you to reciprocate with a little of your culture. Yoga is not only for the bendy twisty ones among us, it is for every shape and size, every age and stage of life.

Ever wondered what my practice looks like when there’s no one in front of me?

A little bit different every day - not particularly structured & often a little more playful in places to find what feels good & what doesn’t…not often an hour just whatever I have the energy for in the moment ✨

There is always one pose in the mix…legs up, supported by the bolster, a little movement of the feet followed by stillness & breath…simple but my body loves it ❤️

The roadworks continue outside - thank you for your patience & parking skills! Always feel free to drive in 🅿️

Took a wee moment to celebrate me last night ✨
✅ masters complete
✅ teacher registration received
✅ employment offer accepted (at my school 🤸)

Thank you for your support & encouragement 🥰

One school term of 9am yoga classes to go 🥺 from next year things will look a little different…council classes will continue & I’m considering Friday 4pm or Saturday morning for these (feedback welcome) 🙏🏽

For now 9am classes are busy/often full - if you attempt to book & can’t get a spot please let me know so that I can slot you in if I get a cancellation, and if you need to cancel please flick me a text ☺️ there’s usually space in 6pm classes - it gets dark through these classes & we practice by fairy light = magic ✨

Happy Sunday yogis 🧘‍♀️ my final assessment has been handed in & I’m ready to release its weight from my shoulders!

For those that joined me in the studio last week…thank you for your patience & kindness with my voice…can’t say it’s fully back but hopefully it will be by Tuesday 🤞🏼

I bumped into a beautiful friend I haven’t seen for a while at Coles (as you do around here) long story short she has a wee side hustle making Beef Tallow balm 🐮(vegetarian’s look away). Liz is a nurse, massage therapist & granma…with those areas of expertise up her sleeve and a desire to help her own skin condition & grandbabies excema she’s developed Humble Balms. I’ve used it for the last couple of days & it’s lovely (bit early for full review) I’ve got some for sale in the studio if you’d like to purchase ☺️

I’m back 🤸‍♀️ 9am yogi’s my prac is done & I’m ready to see your beautiful faces!

A little heads up for Flowers Road…there is work happening which has taken away your car parks across the road, plenty of parking on my side! You are always welcome to drive in & park…there have been lights operating and traffic down to one lane…all very exciting for my resident doggo 🤦🏽‍♀️

Very grateful for beautiful blue sky days for school holidays ☀️ they’ve come to an end & term 3 starts tomorrow 🫣

For the next five weeks I’m completing the final milestone of my Masters - my Graduate Teacher Performance Assessment (GTPA)…to do this my 9am classes take a pause (6pm classes continue as usual).

Happy International Yoga Day 💕✨

The theme this year is yoga for healthy aging. My thought when I arrange both Hatha and yin classes is always to support us all in every season of our lives building strength, maintaining mobility, improving balance, creating space to breath deeply, and always making time to rest 😴

I visited Australia Zoo on Saturday - my meerkat friend has the rest business sorted 💕⤵️ in case you need a little inspo!

An adventure we’d rather not repeat…7 days, 33 crosswords, many games of sequence and a 1,000 word puzzle…

Feeling very grateful for doctors who spoke in plain English and answered our many questions as best they could without a crystal ball & nurses that recognised anxiety and provided much needed support 💕

Thanks for your understanding with cancelled classes & for holding us in your thoughts 🙏🏽 ❤️
