This achievement reflects Ruby’s dedication, hard work, and commitment to her development both on and off the field. We are incredibly proud to see her earn the opportunity to represent Queensland on the national stage.

Fun Fact:

Otis Gowa grew up in a small town called Ravenshoe where the sport was predominately rugby league and touch football. In his late teens found athletics and travelled to many carnivals and state championships. In 2006 he was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer (Hodgkin’s lymphoma) and was in remission ten months later.

In 2008, Otis became Australian 100m Champion.

Otis is now the sprint coach for The Female Co where he passes on his knowledge of speed and conditioning and help mentor athletes at a high-performance level.
