Young Jack again from Roko Island Getaway casting topwaters for Spanish mackerel. So hard to stay connected, but so visual. Pay attention to the sun as a Spanish gets some serious airtime.

Quick photo drop from a recent trip with FNSF-NOMAD to the Archer River, Arukuun, Cape York. Once again thanks to the crew on the Blue Martini and their clients for making it such a great trip. Looking forward to some East Coast, blue water action later in the year already.

Young Jack from Roko Island Glamping and Fishing and I went out for a late Sunday sesh on the topwater Spanish. Looking out at the sun setting over the Torres Strait’s, with Spanish frequently getting some air. What a magic place.

Plenty of Barra along the beaches, so much fun. This one stayed on, just over the meter mark, falling to a panic stations Mullet. Starting to like these lures.

That feeling when they hit you hard, and then that feeling when they let go😂😂.

Cruising down the coast aboard the ‘Blue Martini’, from Weipa to the Archer River we had a bunch of these cool Manta rays appear around the boat, feeding on the surface in fairly glassy conditions. Always a treat.

Whilst travelling up the Archer the other day with clients from Far North Sportfishing, stumbled across this fella sunbathing. Often wondered why so many of the smaller crocs have very light coloured markings, well I think I found there dad, roughly 4.7meters with an unusually light coloured head. What an impressive looking crocodile.

Creating memories with Far North Sportfishing client Geof. Sharks are often portrayed as nasty killing machines, Tawny sharks however, are quite the opposite. Gorgeous creatures.

Recently went upto Cooktown for the long weekend. Caught up with some old friends and new ones, landed some nice Barras and missed a few big ones. Can’t wait to get back.

Some nice Barras hanging around the ‘cottonwoods’.
