November 2025 School Sports Nationals β in just one year, Mikeire not only earned himself a spot in the 12 Years Boys 100m Final, but smashed his PB twice, running 12.31 in the heats and backing it up with a 12.21 in the final. π₯
After finishing 5th in Australia at ACT School Sports Nationals, he went on to brake that time yet again. Since then, heβs continued dropping his PB meet after meet β running 12.17 at his school athletics carnival before dipping under 12 seconds most recently at ALAC in QLD where he placed 4th in Australia with an incredible 11.94 run πͺπ½β‘οΈ
Just imagine what we could achieve in time for WA with consistent training now.

Before the comp, we headed back home for a trip down the coast. Nothing beats going back to the South Coast (Yuin Country) to ground yourself and reconnect with where we come from. Mikeireβs Aboriginal heritage is something he is really proud of. The boys β Mikeire on the right β trying oysters for the very first time.
Mikeires first time trying blocks and working on his start. This was leading up to the 2025 Nationals in ACT. at this point his PB was 12:38
Watching the growth and development in his sprinting has been incredible to see. In his very first year of running, he competed at Nationals in Sydney, and fast forward just a year β he finished 1st in the ACT with a time of 12.38, running over a second faster than the year before with ONLY 4 training sessions under his belt.
Mikeireβs first ever School Sports Nationals in Sydney, 2024 β qualifying as the second fastest 11-year-old boy in the ACT. He went on to finish 15th fastest in Australia. Looking back now, itβs incredible to see how much heβs improved in just one year. Fast forward a year, and he finished as the fastest boy in the ACT for his age group and 5th fastest in Australia. What a journey in such a short amount of time.
Cannot wait to see what he can achieve by this years Nationals.
