⚔ Tarago Medieval Faire Recap ⚔

Yesterday, the Burly's held our second event of the year, hosting a day of buhurts, outrance, duels, and everything in-between at the Tarago Medieval Faire.

It was a long but very enjoyable day, and we walked away with a complete bingo card, plus a couple of bruises.

We had five new fighters in armour, two new marshals training, and hundreds of spectators watching.

If you saw our fights and want to give buhurt a try, check out the training timetable and come along to the Crypt, where you'll be welcomed with open arms and a sword!

Our next prize pack is for those masters of blunt force impacts - the HMB fighters from Canberra Burly Griffins! Running fights of different types all day down in our Buhurt Arena with shows at 1030, 12 and 230pm they will have a range of awesome prizes to give away to their winners!

First is a fantastic drinking horn courtesy of the Medieval Shoppe! After a hard day swinging an axe and sword we are sure the winner of this will know just how to use it!

Then we have a beautiful leather pouch from Gigi Crafts - perfect for storing anything from valuables to repair kits to missing teeth - if you were to undertake a sport where such things may occasionally occur.

And last we have some mead to help relieve those aches, pains and bruises - specifically a bottle of Odins Reserve courtesy of Stone Dog Meadery!

Many fighters in our club and the wider buhurt community are actively serving or veteran soldiers. Their service to this country and our sport reminds us to take time on this day to remember the sacrifice of soldiers past and present.

It's been a couple of weeks, but we're officially all moved into the new gym! The lysts are up, the floor is matted, and the workshop is stocked.

We've also sorted out our access for the main gate, since it's actually not open during our training times. For our existing members, please contact one of the committee members for access. For any new members, please contact us through our social media pages for access.

🗺️ New Location 🗺️

With classes at the new gym starting tomorrow, we want to make sure everyone gets to the right place! Our new location is 10/80 Bellenden Street, Gungahlin in the Crace Business Park. This is a secured premises, though the front gate should be open until 7pm. If there are any issues with access, please message us and we’ll get it open!

For any new and continuing members, first week of training is free!

🗓️New Training Schedule🗓️

With the commencement of the new gym this week, we are excited to showcase the new training schedule we’ll be running. This is the first draft and is likely to change as we settle into the new gym and our coaches balance training with other commitments.

Please note, the Monday classes won’t begin until May, due to the Easter long weekend 🐣
