This post is dedicated to as they were this for me, and many thereafter.

Be the person you wish you met at the start of your journey.

The one who said hi and probably lent you their make up or body glitter.
The one who you instantly felt you could be vulnerable with.
The one who you may (hopefully) have a lifetime friendship with.

Burlesque is SO vulnerable. Support and a hug is huge.

Sip smart. Speak truth.

Meet (or reacquaint yourself with) your Teacher Aides — Temerity & Dread.

These two gorgeous humans, Temerity Outré (she/her) & Dread Sexy (she/her) are the backbone of CBA.

With every class we offer, these two goddesses attend and assist our students and community in how to move that is safe and kind to all bodies. The teachers set the choreo.
These angels pick up that choreo and alter it in multiple ways so that it works for every body.
We don’t say it enough — but this place runs the way it does because of them.

CBA is safe, accommodating and understanding.
Our teachers and aides work wholistically and cohesively.

If someone in your circle is doing well…
celebrate them.

Legit - celebrate them.

Be loud about it.
Be proud of them.
Back them properly - loudly and also without the audience.

And if your first instinct is to get a bit jelly about it or maybe chat about them negatively...
PLEASE have a quiet check in with yourself.

Because when one of us pops off, that’s not a threat — it’s proof we can ALL do it - TOGETHER and SUPPORTIVE of each other.

That’s the kind of space we feel safe in.

Punk/Rock Burlesque Course.

Devil's Horns up and locked. Knees dirty. head...banged.

No dance background? Don’t care.
We’ll build the routine. You bring the attitude, you scene queen.

End goal: stage. Noise. You owning it at the showcase as one of the Black Parade.

Over 10 weeks, you’ll learn the foundations, find your groove, and build something you can take to the stage for our student showcase.
