What an absolutely incredible weekend of karate on the Sunshine Coast! š„š
A huge thank you to the JKAA for bringing together such a memorable weekend filled with outstanding training, competition, friendship and true karate spirit.
We were so fortunate to train with Takahashi Shihan, Lutie van den Berg Shihan and Phil Young Sensei. The seminars were inspiring, challenging and full of knowledgeāand I think itās safe to say everyone came away not only stronger in their karate knowledge, but with much stronger legs too! š
Lutie Shihanās Saturday morning squad session certainly put everyone through their paces! Focusing on the three most important elements of karateāmind, body and spiritāit was an incredible session that challenged and inspired everyone.
The 2026 JKAA National Championships were a wonderful display of determination, courage and spirit. Every competitor stepped onto the tatami and gave their very best, and the sportsmanship shown both on and off the tatami was simply fantastic. We couldnāt be prouder of everyone involved!
Our MCH members truly shone throughout the entire weekendāin their training, in competition and, most importantly, in themselves. Watching them grow, challenge themselves and support one another was something very special.
A huge and heartfelt thank you to Lutie Shihan for his continued support, dedication, training, guidance and inspiration for all of our MCH members. The benefits of his squad training were certainly evident at Nationals, and we are incredibly grateful for everything he continues to give to our students and our dojo.
Thank you also to Roy Bower Sensei and everyone involved in organising and running such an amazing weekend. So much hard work goes on behind the scenes to make an event like this possible, and we truly appreciate all that you do.
And last, but certainly not least, a very special thank you to all the parents, guardians, family and friends who travelled, supported and cheered on our MCH students. Your encouragement and support mean so much and are a huge part of these wonderful experiences.
This weekend truly captured everything the JKA representsāgreat training, great competition and, above all, the incredible friendships that are formed and strengthened along the journey.
