Capturing Round 10 πŸΎπŸ”΅βšͺοΈπŸ”΄

What a difference a day makes! Round 10 started in thick fog before giving way to beautiful winter sunshine, setting the scene for another fantastic weekend of junior footy.

Friday night saw our Under 14 Girls head to Dalyston to take on Leongatha under lights. The girls put in a determined performance but were ultimately outplayed by a strong Leongatha outfit. Back over the bridge at the Kennel, our Youth Girls took on Inverloch and produced an outstanding team performance, coming away with a commanding victory.

On Sunday, our Red Dogs hosted Dalyston at home, with both the Under 12s and Under 14s recording convincing wins in front of their home crowd. Our Red Pups also put in another terrific performance, continuing to show great improvement and enthusiasm every week.

The Blue Dogs travelled to Inverloch to face the ladder-leading Sea Eagles. Our Under 10s displayed plenty of skill and determination as the morning fog slowly lifted. The Under 12s then delivered the thriller of the day, holding off Inverloch by just one point in a nail-biting contest to claim top spot on the ladder. The Under 14s followed with another heart-stopping encounter, with neither side able to break the deadlock as the teams shared the points in a well-earned draw.

Round 10 delivered everything we love about junior footballβ€”great teamwork, determination, thrilling finishes and plenty of Dogs spirit. Well done to all our players, coaches, volunteers and families for another fantastic weekend! Enjoy the bye!

Capturing Round 9

Round 9 brought plenty of winter football, with mud at the Kennel and sunshine across the bridge creating very different conditions for our teams.

The Blue teams hosted Leongatha in a muddy contest at home. The U12s came away with a hard-earned win after a tough tussle with the Parrots, while the U14s delivered another heart-stopping performance, holding on to record a thrilling 5-point victory.

The Red teams crossed the bridge to take on Killy Bass. The U12s produced an outstanding performance to secure a strong win, while the U14s fought bravely but unfortunately fell just one goal short after a hard-fought battle.

Whether it was the mud at the Kennel or the sunshine over the bridge, our U10s embraced the conditions and enjoyed another great day of football, continuing to develop their skills and teamwork.

On Friday night, our U14 Girls showcased their determination and grit under the lights at the Kennel. Despite a tremendous effort, they were narrowly defeated by Inverloch in a closely contested match.

A special thank you to all the parents who put their hands up to umpire this week. Community volunteers are vital to our club, and your willingness to step in and help out is greatly appreciated. Job well done!

Go Dogs! πŸΎπŸ’™πŸ€β€οΈ
