On 3 April 2026, four paramotor pilots set out on an unforgettable sunrise adventure above Namibia’s legendary Moon Valley — one of the most surreal desert landscapes on Earth.
Carved over millions of years by ancient rivers, Moon Valley lies where the Namib Desert reveals its raw beauty: rugged canyons, weathered ridges, golden light, and silence stretching to the horizon. From the sky, this hidden place looks like another world.
With our paramotors lifting into the calm morning air, we soared above the valley like eagles, drifting over cliffs, shadows, and vast open space. Every turn revealed colours painted by time itself — amber stone, silver light, deep desert contrasts, and the stillness of creation.
Flying here brings more than adventure. It brings peace. Far above the noise of daily life, with only the wind, engine hum, and endless sky, the soul becomes quiet.
This was more than a flight. It was a reminder of freedom, wonder, and the beauty placed in the world around us.

Join us for another unforgettable sunrise paramotor adventure—this time over the iconic Spitzkoppe, one of Namibia’s most dramatic and photogenic landscapes.
On the morning of 6 April 2026, George, Johan, Jonathan, and Hannes launched just after first light following a memorable night spent at the foot of the mountain. We arrived the previous evening, settled into neat bungalows, and enjoyed a relaxed night around the fire—great food, good conversation, and a spectacular desert sunset setting the tone for what was to come.
Up at 05:00, we prepared for takeoff with the towering granite peaks of Spitzkoppe forming an incredible backdrop. Rising over 700 meters above the surrounding plains, the main peak, smooth domes lined up across the desert, and the famous natural bridge created a scene that felt almost surreal from the air.
Flying through the soft morning light, the rich colours of the rock formations came alive—deep reds, warm oranges, and long shadows stretching across the landscape. Gliding past the iconic arch and along the perfectly sculpted domes made for a truly unique and breathtaking experience.
After soaking in the views from above, we returned safely to the LZ—another epic flight shared with great company and unforgettable scenery.

Paramotor Safari to Messum Crater | Namibia Desert Adventure
We launched just after sunrise at 06:30 from Henties Bay, chasing the calm morning air along Namibia’s breathtaking Skeleton Coast.
Pilots on this unforgettable flight: Hannes, Cornelis, George, Johan, Jonathan, and Meyer, although Cornelis and Meyer only flew to Mile 72 and then switched to ground support duties - many thanks to them!
From launch, we tracked north along the coastline for roughly 30 km to Mile 72 camp, with the Atlantic Ocean on one side and endless desert on the other. From there, we turned inland—heading east into the vast Namib.
What followed was a 70 km journey over some of the most spectacular desert terrain imaginable, eventually reaching the dramatic Messum Crater. We descended into the crater and spent time exploring its incredible geological formations from the air before landing on a wide, open plain inside.
With no immediate way out, we sheltered in a hollowed-out rock and waited for our ground crew to arrive. For the next three hours, we shared stories, reflected on the flight, and took in the silence and scale of this remote wilderness.
Eventually, the support team reached us, and we packed up for the journey onward to the Brandberg Mountain—ready for the next day’s adventure.
This flight was, without question, one of the most memorable paramotor experiences of our lives.

A Saturday They Will Never Forget | Tandem Paramotor Flights – Swakopmund, Namibia
On Saturday, 28 February, four Mechanical Engineering students from the Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST) joined me for an unforgettable weekend of paramotor flying in the coastal town of Swakopmund, Namibia.
Each student experienced the thrill of a tandem foot-launch paramotor flight along the spectacular Atlantic coastline. We launched from Mile 4 and flew south along the beach to The Mole before turning back along the endless shoreline. Swakopmund, a historic coastal town on Namibia’s west coast, is famous for its dramatic meeting of the Namib Desert and the Atlantic Ocean, making it an incredible place for aerial adventure.
For three of the students, this was their very first time ever leaving the ground. The combination of ocean views, desert dunes, and the peaceful freedom of flight made the experience truly unforgettable.
The smiles on their faces say it all — a mixture of excitement, disbelief, and pure joy.
Moments like these remind us that sometimes the best classroom is the sky.
This was a Saturday none of us will ever forget.

In April 2025, about 25 paramotor pilots met up at Orania, South Africa, for a week of fun PPG flying and meeting new faces from all across the country. It was an amazing experience and I hope we can repeat it again next year. Thanks to Daniël Coetsee and Hennie Espere Brink for organising this excellent event!
