Round 1 of the EFS the series, and my first race! So lets recap!
Unfortunately missed my first heat having lost all power on the dummy grid. We rolled back into the pits, found a split wire which Leroy followed back and found the issue to be a 20c fuse π cheapest thing on the car! Replaced that and made it out for heat 2. The car felt great, I got faster and more confident each lap.
Then came the B main. Unfortunately didn't go quite go as planned. A few stoppages made it hard to build momentum and remain consistent. But I gave it a good crack and had some fun! A knock to the front right end saw me pushed inward causing a bit of a pile up and smash to the side. Luckily only cosmetic, the muffler etc is all fine and I kept racing until the race was declared.
Back in the pits I was greeted by the biggest smiles and overwhelming looks of pride from my love Leroy Martin and eldest son Chev. If it wasnt for Leroy this dream would never have become a reality. The amount of hard work he has put into the car, but also into teaching me all the ins and outs that come with Speedway, while and guiding Chevi learning the ropes in the pits.
I am also incredibly grateful for the fam in the pits, not just for helping with my younger kiddos, but also for their genuine love and support π«Άπ»
One last thank you to all those who messaged or stopped the by the pits not just to check out the cars new look, but to show love, support & encouragement. Modlites Queensland is such a supportive division, and I am somehow even more excited for the season ahead π€π»
