🏁 RACE UPDATE 🏁

After resetting the ECU, we gave it everything we had, but unfortunately, we could only manage a top speed of 135km/h. Needless to say, she was definitely lacking power on those long straights.

Just when we thought we might have finally sorted the gremlin, we came into the stadium section, went over the boom, and got back on the throttle to rejoin the track… and there it was again — engine light on and into limp mode! 😪

Unfortunately, the gremlin is still there, so we’ve made the decision not to head out for Race 3. From past experience, we know this issue only gets worse as the day goes on, and we don’t want to risk making things worse, and lets not forget....going slow is HARD 😂

We’ll take her back to Darwin, pull things apart again, and reassess. Fingers crossed that replacing the one thing we haven’t changed yet — the fuel pump — is the fix we’ve been chasing! 🤞

We’re still not sure if we’ve fixed the problem, but we’ll head out and give it a go!

We hit the track at 7:24 am WA time (8:54 am for our Darwin supporters).

Tune in for a bit of a live stream, but if you see us leaving the track, you’ll know why! 😂🤞

WELL, WELL, WELL… 🙄

The Gremlins are back AGAIN! 👹

That’s definitely not how we saw Race 1 going, that’s for sure!

We had an awesome start, with the first 30kms going smoothly, then NEK MINUTE… the engine light comes on and we’re straight into limp mode! 🤦‍♂️

We lost count of how many times it happened, especially when trying to accelerate out of a corner. Definitely not what you want when you’re out there racing!

Unfortunately, things aren’t looking too promising for the rest of the weekend at this stage. 😔 We’ll see what we can find and keep you all updated.

Fingers crossed we can get to the bottom of these gremlins! 🤞🏁

More Breakage 😪

Unfortunately, Sunday followed in Saturday's footsteps.

We hit the track for Race 3, with our two laps starting at 10:31am. The first lap went smoothly, with a solid time of 0:29:18:16, especially considering how rough the track had become.

About halfway through the second lap, the right rear wheel decided it had had enough and parted ways with the buggy. The end of the axle snapped, sending the wheel off into the bush. We knew something wasn't right, and then Daniel spotted the wheel in his side mirror behind us.

Sadly, that brought Race 3 to an early end. With very little time before Race 4, we made the tough decision to call it a weekend.

The buggy had to be loaded onto the loader definitely not a sight you ever want to see but thankfully, it looks worse than it is.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped us over the weekend, especially the recovery crews, the Loveday 4x4 loader and operator, and our incredible team. We truly appreciate everyone's hard work and support.
