IRRIGATION WORKS/UPGRADE

Some really positive news that will greatly benefit our Greenskeepers and the surface they produce for our members and competitors to play on.

There has been a desire to find a better way to water the greens, so that hoses are not manually laid out or rolled out by our volunteers each week and then taken back in when finished. As you would appreciate it took quite a number of people to do this and was very time consuming. End result was the greens probably didn't receive as much water as we would have liked.

The club would like to acknowledge and thank Davd Woods and Mark Lattin who have dedicated a great deal of their time over the past 4 weeks, initially locating existing watering points around the greens and then resurrecting the pop up sprinklers which will once again allow for the greens watering to be automated.

This fantastic result will certainly assist with the need to water at specific times of the week so that the greenskeepers can mow, roll, fertilize etc. etc. so as not to impact the times when the greens need to be presented for competition play and social functions.

For a relatively small outlay of funds to cover expenses of new materials the end result has saved the club thousands should we have chosen to contract this work out to a local irrigation company.

The club extends a massive thankyou to the boys for their efforts, it is greatly appreciated.

OPEN DAY/SEASON LAUNCH

Last Sunday saw the club start the new season with a successful event. We had a pleasing turnout with over two thirds of the members attending along with our Club Patron Cr David Hood, who said a few words and introduced last Years Club Champion David Woods to roll the first bowl of the season and officially open the playing green.

The committee provided a Sausage Sizzle for everyone to enjoy, a short game of bowls to dust off the cobwebs and some delicious desserts (provided by a few of our life members), rounded out a fun few hours which set the tone for the year ahead.

Thanks to everyone who came along and good luck for the season ahead.

CLUB OPEN DAY / SEASON LAUNCH

Friendly reminder to all our members that this Sunday 27th September 2026 is the club's official Season Launch.

It's a really important day and it would be great to see as many of our members participating in this event as possible.

12.00pm start with a Sausage Sizzle (funded by the club).

Don't forget to wear your playing uniform as we are looking to coordinate a photo to use for promotional purposes.

Looking forward to seeing as many of you as possible on the day.

WORKING BEE

What a huge effort this morning. The weather was magnificent and so was the help of 16 members and a couple of family ring-ins, who worked brilliantly as a team and gave the club a good dose of T.L.C. both inside and out.

From mopping floors, dusting and cleaning toilets inside to slashing weeds, mowing, edging, hedging, gardening, poisoning, mulching and many other tasks the club looks so much better leading into the start of a new season.

I personally want to thank the following members. Eva, Kath, Ellen, Sue, Christine, Brendan, Phil, David F, David W, Mark, Craig, Joe, Rob, Mick & Roger. Also to Trish and Gareth (Christine's family), who along with all of the members gave up their time and effort to produce an amazing outcome.

Everyone enjoyed a light snack and a drink afterwards (which was well earned) and hopefully a restful afternoon recharging the batteries.

Great to see everyone back around the club and for those not able to get there we look forward to catching up soon at the trial games or most importantly the Opening Day.
