Well… Buzz has officially given us about 15 heart attacks this past week. 🤦‍♀️😂

We genuinely thought he was dying. He could barely walk, was incredibly sore, almost fell over when we saddled him up, and naturally our brains went straight to the worst possible scenario.

So off to the vet we went for a lameness exam, nerve blocks and X-rays of ALL FOUR FEET.

And the verdict?

Turns out Buzz is just a bit of a hypochondriac 😂

His feet are thin soled and feeling extra sensitive after the wet winter, and apparently all he needs is a nice set of shoes to give his little feet some extra support.

So… Buzz is fine (or he will be Friday when the farrier comes to put his shoes on)

Our blood pressure is not.

Thanks for the heart attack Buzz — and for the very expensive set of shoes 🙄😂

But in all seriousness, we’re very relieved that there’s nothing more sinister going on and that Buzz is going to be feeling much more comfortable, and hopefully back in action for you guys to ride him again soon 🥰

Introducing Marley to Spring Valley! 🥰

Marley is a 16.2hh, 7yo Thoroughbred who joins us from Red Gums Equine And Animal Supplies — making him our second horse from them, with Buzz being our first. ❤️

They produce some absolutely wonderful OTTBs, and we’re so excited to see what Marley can bring to Spring Valley.

For now, Marley won’t be available for lessons while he settles into his new home and gets to know his new routine. Kristen and Alanna will also spend some time putting him through his paces, working on his re-education and getting to know him both on the ground and under saddle.

We can’t wait to see this gorgeous boy settle in, find his feet and discover what he’s capable of!

I know we have a few students who have been waiting very patiently for Esky to be back in action.

Well after waking up to Esky being lame (again) with a very swollen leg we took him to the vet to find out what’s going on.

We have some good news and some bad news.
The bad news is that he will be out of action for another few weeks- and he is on stable rest.

He has some laminitis in his offside front (which has been caused from the pain / abscess in the near side front).

He gets to wear a really cool blue boot for the next 10 days with daily betadine soaks, and then his front shoes will go back on.

The good news is that We are hoping he will be joining us for lessons again by the start of September 🤞🤞

Esky says stable rest sucks - and he would love some extra cuddles and treats when you come for your next lesson 🥰

It’s been a wet day today, with a few students braving the weather this morning with Buzz, Teddy and Buddy.

Buzz and Esky have their new rugs thanks to the amazing packages through Thorough Care SA and the sun did join us for a whole 10 minutes this afternoon 🤣🙈
