On a recent return to Mount Claremont Farmers Market I caught up with Lee Ann, the always smiling chocolate mistress behind Cheeky Cacao | Perth Chocolate 🍫

A lot has happened since the first time I discovered her creations many moons ago, at I'm what I'm pretty sure was the original Manning Farmers Market location.

Many creations have been brewing since then!

I picked up a few bars to take home for "emergency" snacking 🤫

All bars are Minimum 70% without any nasties 🌟

Last week at Manning Farmers Market I had to take a closer look at Brewdmare which definitely didn't disappoint 👌

A cute little trailer stocked & ready to feed people with fresh local produce 🌟

Apart from the normal menu, there are Market Mash-Ups, recipes created from local produce found on the day at the market location ♻️

I got myself an Egg & Tattie roll, minus bacon, with avocado.

Thank you to Fern for creating a lovely local addition to markets and events around Perth and WA.

From the first time I discovered innercupaustralia while on one of my usual Kalamunda Farmers Market Sunday morning adventures, I was hooked ✨

Located at the top end of Kalamunda Central Mall you will find treats to please all tastes for any time of the day.

Whether it's an Iced Tea, Hot Chocolate, Icecream, Warm Oat Bowls, or my favourite...Acai Bowls 🫐

The granola they use is from a favourite local brand Coastal Crunch | Gluten Free nutritious & healthy foods 🌅🫶

I won't give away my secret recipe, but it didn't take too many visits before the friendly faces behind this colourful escape had memorised my order 🌟

Thank you to Callum and Carmen for willingly participating in my photo request, they are just a couple of the welcoming crew ready to put together your own blend of flavours and toppings 🥣

We’ve been reflecting on our amazing farmers who grow the food that ends up on our tables.

We often hear discussions about the rising cost of living and the importance of fair wages, yet we rarely hear the same conversations about the people producing our food.

Many farmers aren’t working 40 hour weeks and it is not uncommon for them to work up to 100 hours, week after week, while carrying the risks of weather, rising costs, fluctuating markets and other factors completely beyond their control.

We’re genuinely interested in your perspective and have had many conversations with some of you in person or people expressing their opinions online. There are no right or wrong answers and it’s an incredibly important conversation.

We’ll be sharing your comments with farmers themselves, so please keep the conversation respectful.

Last week I visited Carol at Soak or Simmer at Subi Farmers Market for a fancy oat cup.

I had the Blueberry Compote (middle cup in the last 2 photos) what an amazing mix 🫐🍋🍁

The menu will change depending on seasonal availability of ingredients, so you'll never have too long to wait for new ideas.

The oats are WA Grown & WA Milled 🌅🌾⚙️

With Porridge, Chia, Overnight Oats, and Hot Chocolate available, you'll be sure to find something to simmer down under the sun with.

First visit to Nipotino • Italian Cafe • Perth in Balcatta 🇮🇹☕🥪

The philosophy here is "cook like a nonna, eat like a nipotino"

Nipote being a nephew/neice/grandchild and Nipotino being the little/child version.

If you want some coffee, biscotti, panini or a panini-pie, even salad, there's enough variety here to keep you satisfied, with authenticity and good service.

Had to get a glass of Lightning Minds ™️ non-alcoholic beer ⚡ which is now available on tap for the first time 🥳

Local brewery, supporting other local beer makers, that's some good community collaboration right there 🤝
