. The team was created to play competitive basketball above social level basketball. The team now has players from Brisbane and Sunny Coast in Australia.

The Instigators, the Thompson brothers (Blair and Matt) and Gary, a player and friend, brought about the team name, Thomoz Tomahawks. Gary, with his artistic flair soon began to work on a logo and jerseys to showcase the new team.
