Funny how often we’re in a hurry to get somewhere…and then when we get there, we’re already thinking about the next thing. Don’t miss too much of your life while you’re busy building it.
Have a great day

I think a lot of people look calm….. but underneath it all they haven’t let go in a very long time. Still carrying pressure, irrational stories and mentally somewhere else even when the day’s finished.
After awhile the tension stops feeling obvious, it starts feeling normal.
One of the best things you can do is stop reaching for your phone the second things go quiet and let yourself be where your feet are for a minute 😊

Some people get home … but part of them is still at work.
Still over thinking, carrying things and mentally somewhere else.
After a while that starts feeling normal.
A slower breath and a quieter moment can sometimes do more than you realise.
Have a great day

There’s times to chase moments, then there’s times to be deeply in them, especially with people you love

A broomstick, three competitors, one truth:

Mastery isn’t in the tool, it’s in the nervous system holding it.

With Mick Fanning and Luke Rockhold in the background, it’s a reminder,

The best don’t need perfect conditions.
They create precision out of anything.

Calm breath.
Clear mind.
Simple movement.

That’s where performance lives.

40 years since my last race… and I felt everything, the nerves, expectation. That little voice… can I still do this? Well….. to start it off I did false start… the only one all day, so my heart rate went through the roof but in that moment… it’s the same work we talk about.Breathe, come back to your mindset, go again, with a simple target: beat our times from 22 years ago.
We both went 2 seconds faster, not because we’re different…but the stuff we teach and practice actually holds up when it matters.
I swim twice a week, Devo swims 4 x a week that’s it but we lean on good people - Todd Robinson (coach), Tom Hill swimming mentor and Shannon Wuoti hilarious human and inspiration, then try to get a little better each time.
As you get older… don’t shut goals down, set something, start small and stay with it.
The nerves don’t leave, you just learn how to meet them better.
And the most important factor for me is… I get to do it with someone who inspires me every day

Most people chase lifespan… more years.
The ones who truly get it chase health span… better years.
Because what’s the point of living to 85…if your body taps out at 60.
Move in variety, challenge your system, stay adaptable…so your future self isn’t just alive, its
capable.
Strong enough to play, mobile enough to explore and free enough to enjoy it.
Longevity isn’t the goal…living well, for longer is.

High performance needs as much recovery as it does ex*****on

Happy New Year everyone,
For those chasing big goals this year, here’s something I’ve found helpful.
Before writing the goals, get clear on what you want to experience more of.
More adventure, more inner peace, more joy, more freedom, those experiences act like a
compass.
They’re closely tied to your values, what deeply matters to you.
Then let your goals be the simple ways you move toward those experiences, small steps,
built one on top of the other.
And when it comes to New Year’s resolutions, what if the focus was on relationships
instead?
With the people you love, with yourself, the parts that need a little upgrade like doubt, fear
or the challenges you keep meeting.
Working this way, goals stop feeling forced, they become adjustments that slowly shape
the life you’re actually after.
What ever that is have a great year.
