A short story:

🟫🟫🟫🟫
I  was a trapped boy who lived in the shadows of his own mind. My mind  was consumed by survival—always scanning, always bracing, never resting. The weight of old battles and unseen wounds held me down like chains, convincing me i was not built for freedom, only for endurance.
But then when I  stepped upon the mat. At first, jiu-jitsu was only struggle: suffocating grips, crushing pressure, the panic of being pinned. Yet within that struggle, a secret was revealed—every breath under pressure was a lesson. Every time I  tapped, I  learned not of defeat but of release.
Slowly, I  realized that the mat mirrored my mind. The same fear that kept me locked in survival mode was the same fear I  felt when mounted by an opponent. But on the mat, i could practice. I  could breathe. I could turn fear into patience, resistance into flow, and chaos into strategy.
Through the art, my  mind shifted. I  no longer carried myself  as prey running from danger, but as a warrior who could stay calm in the storm. The chains of survival mode loosened, not because the world became easier, but because i became unshakable.
And so, jiu-jitsu was not merely a discipline of the body—it became my mind medicine, my  path through the  shadow, my  proof that even in the darkest corners of the mind, there is a way to rise, to breathe, to fight, and to live free.

A deeply felt gratitude for lukey for holding it down through some rough waters , my brother Milton, for being a true teacher of the mind and for sharpening and detailing my jujitsu for the next journey ahead.

✅️ benefits of having a high value trainer-

1) Will yell at you.
2) Doesn't show you the effectiveness of each exercise/movement.
3) Doesn't follow through on their word.
4) Turns up to each session unprepared.
5) They are out of shape and smell funny.
6) Ugly to look at.
7) understands nothing!!.
8) Having a boring personality.
9) educated in the art of spoon wrapping.
10) can use chopsticks.

But, getting a strong body will bring out areas of neglect, early childhood injuries, and work ergonomics and lifestyle choices.

Reaching your goals can be daunting because then you’ve got no sense of achievement left to do; you have achieved, you're at the destination, now what?

Well thats the whole point you don’t have to put any resources, energy or effort into it because you’ve done it, now you just get to enjoy that and a lot of people forget to enjoy being healthy, feeling strong. Instead, they love to have that feeling of overcoming, of achieving, and its an addiction.

That’s one reason why people yo-yo when trying to lose weight because they are excited about accomplishing something and then they subconsciously realise what now and so they regress and go back so they have something to accomplish or have purpose about again.

And there can be more of an emotional tie to why they have that weight on as well, so you have to remove that part of you that’s tied to that and that’s where my strength as a personal trainer comes into the journey. I help coach my clients through not only the workout or the exercises, but the entire journey

Plateau = Your body has now adapted to the "new" level of intensity, frequency, or volume from your current programming.

To level up is all in the measurements/monitoring/tonnage or output to keep it simple. Just depending on what kind of training you are doing.

Breaking free from the plateau will be specific to what your inefficiencies are.
