INSURANCE INDEPENDENCE FOR MOTORCYCLE CLUBS IS NOW A REALITY - BLACK IS BACK!!

It is now a reality that motorcycle clubs in Australia can have insurance independence again for their own motorcycle events, working bees, social activities, fundraisers and more. This means independence to run their own operation just like it was in the good old days, with no need to affiliate with any insuring body if the club only wants to run its own activities for its members.

For those clubs that have already completed the quotation request with OTTA Insurance, these clubs should be quoted by an APRA approved insurer by the 13th February. Spectator limits are expected to be set at 2,000 people but the insurer can look at increasing this for single events/ activities if required for an additional fee. Now just imagine if your club activities had that many spectators at an event and it did not have to affiliate with an insuring body and it did not have to pay the ever increasing fees which keeps your club on the brink of bankruptcy. And just imagine how many members your club would have if members only had to pay a membership fee to the club because they only want to participate in local club events.

Of course clubs wanting to run events for riders external to their club, could still affiliate with a governing/ insuring body to do that. But for the general and everyday activities of a club, control can be taken back, members and especially families can afford to return and clubs can once again experience growth, which like most clubs in this country, probably haven't experienced for a very long time.

Through this program, clubs will have their very own licensed insurance representative, which will be with them each step of the way. Clubs will receive friendly and professional insurance advice so they know exactly what type of protection their club and their members should have. This is real and it is happening. Important Announcement from Rider Sport Australia (RSA) 📢

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the winding up of RSA and the subsequent ending of the RSA insurance policy on Feb 13 2026.

Since Jan 2023, our goal was simple: provide affordable insurance and operational freedom so clubs, families and especially young people could get off the couch and back onto their bikes. Unfortunately, due to low numbers and legal pressure from our insurance finance provider, RSA is now entering liquidation.

The Facts: 🔹 Daryl Petch the Director of RSA has drawn $0 in wages since June 2023 to keep RSA alive. 🔹 Virtually every cent received was paid to the finance company to maintain coverage. 🔹 Despite the best of intentions, external defamation and financial hurdles have made it impossible to continue.

One Last Mission: Daryl isn’t walking away without a final win for the clubs. He has secured a way for Motorcycle, ATV, Automotive, and Outdoor clubs to hold their OWN independent insurance policies—just like the old days.
