Round 9 Players of the Day 🔥
League Tag – Arabella Bardney
Arabella was outstanding all game, showing great determination, skill, and composure. Her effort on both sides of the ball helped set the tone for the team and made her a deserving Player of the Day.
Reserve Grade – Ben Williement
Ben led from the front with a strong work rate and physical presence. His commitment, consistency, and willingness to do the tough work earned him Reserve Grade Player of the Day honours.
First Grade – Willie Lolohea
Willie delivered a dominant performance, making an impact whenever he touched the ball. His leadership and effort were crucial throughout the match.
First Grade – Sione Tulahe
Sione was relentless from start to finish, bringing energy, toughness, and determination. His contribution around the field was outstanding and played a key role in the team’s performance.
First Grade – Ulu Akolo
Ulu was powerful and dependable all game, consistently making strong carries and important defensive plays. His effort and commitment were recognised with a well deserved Player of the Day award.

The Griffith Waratah Tigers are deeply saddened by the passing of Life Member, Les Saddler.
Les dedicated decades of service to our club, contributing as a player, captain, coach, committee member, secretary, vice president, president, and Life Member. His commitment, leadership, and passion for the Tigers helped shape the club into what it is today.
From his playing days in the 1960s through to his many years of service off the field, Les gave countless hours to the club he loved. His contributions spanned generations and left a lasting impact on players, officials, members, and supporters alike.
Les will be remembered not only for his achievements but also for his loyalty, dedication, and unwavering support of the Griffith Waratah Tigers. His legacy will continue to live on through the club and the many lives he touched.
On behalf of the entire Waratah Tigers family, we extend our heartfelt condolences to Les’s family, friends, and loved ones during this difficult time.
Rest in peace, Les. Your contribution to our club will never be forgotten.

FIRST GRADE DEBUT – SIONE TAKATAKA
Congratulations to Sione on making his First Grade debut for the Waratah Tigers!
New to the club this season, Sione has wasted no time making the most of his opportunity. Despite only attending a handful of training sessions, he showed enough commitment, ability, and determination to earn his place in the First Grade side.
Pulling on the First Grade jersey for the first time is a special achievement, and we’re proud to see Sione reach this milestone in Tigers colours. We look forward to seeing him continue to grow and contribute throughout the season 🙏🏻

League Tag – Ruby O’Connor
Ruby put together another outstanding performance in Round 8, leading by example with her determination, effort, and commitment from start to finish.
Reserve Grade – Junior Lilomaiava
Junior was a standout for the Reserve Grade side, making a huge impact with his strong carries, defensive work, and relentless effort throughout the match. His hard work and physical presence were instrumental in the team’s performance coming away with a hat trick.
First Grade – Sam Filipo & Elvis Nauer-Wood
A well-deserved shared award for Sam and Elvis, who both delivered exceptional performances in First Grade. Sam’s toughness and work rate set the tone for the side, while Elvis was influential with his strong runs and defensive efforts. Both players led from the front and played a key role in the team’s success.
