We’re looking forward to being part of DISTRACTD Live this May.

The theme is “Regulation in Real Life” — focusing on how regulation actually shows up day-to-day, not just in theory.

Dr Daniell Bennett will be contributing from an Exercise Physiology perspective, exploring:
• How regulation is expressed through the body
• The build-up and release of energy
• Why stillness can increase overwhelm for some individuals
• How movement can be used as a practical tool for regulation

This isn’t about fitness or performance.
It’s about understanding that behaviour and overwhelm often have a physiological basis — and that the body needs an outlet.

At ARRC, this is core to how we approach rehabilitation and neurodivergent populations:
movement as a tool for function, regulation, and participation.

If you work with, live with, or are neurodivergent — this session will give you a clearer, more practical framework to understand what’s happening and what actually helps.

Thanks to Amanda Gorman and the DISTRACTD team for continuing to build a platform that connects clinical insight with real-world application.

🧠 NeuroFit Saturdays – Move, Connect, Enjoy
We’re opening more spots in our NeuroFit program at ARRC Helensvale.
This is a community-driven movement program designed specifically for neurodivergent individuals (ADHD, Autism and related conditions) who want a safe, supportive space to be active and connect with others.
I personally supervise these sessions and live with ADHD and ASD myself, so this has been built to feel different to traditional gyms.
There’s no pressure to “train properly” — just move in a way that works for you.
Participants can choose what they enjoy:
🏀 Shoot hoops on our indoor basketball court
🏋️ Use resistance equipment
🤝 Join in movement games and group activities
The focus is simple:
• Social connection
• Regulation through movement
• Building a positive relationship with exercise
💰 $10 per session
🕘 Saturdays 9–11am
