Adelaide Middle Eastern Dance Studio Adelaide Middle Eastern Dance Studio is dedicated to authentic Egyptian and Middle Eastern dance.

Hilde Lund is trained by Egypt's top choreographers and dancers. This is your chance to learn authentic Egyptian dance straight from the source! This beautiful studio is peacefully nestled in the leafy North Eastern suburbs, 20 min drive from the CBD. It is Adelaide's smallest belly dance studio, which allows for small groups and lots of student guidance and feedback from the teacher. This helps students become the best dancers they can be, whether they are happy hobby dancers or want to pursue a professional career. The studio offers classes in a welcoming, inclusive and warm atmosphere, giving students the best learning environment possible. Students of all ages, body shapes and ambition levels are welcome! The focus is on Egyptian dance, both Oriental and folklore, and folkloric dances from across the Middle East and North Africa. The classes focus on correct and proper technique, to ensure students avoid injury. They also provide insight to the cultural context of the dance, giving the students a greater understanding of the dance and its history and place in today's Middle Eastern countries.

Fairuz favourites in Arabic and English
to bring Lebanese warmth to Adelaide’s OzAsia Festival (24 Oct)

There is something special about a place where culture is shared through music, conversation, food and genuine hospitality. This Saturday, Adelaide audiences are invited to experience that spirit as the beloved music of Fairuz takes the stage at OzAsia Festival 2026.

RTS Cultural, in collaboration with the South Australian International Musicians Association (SAIMA), will perform at 1.20 pm on Saturday 24 October at Elder Park, Adelaide, presenting a combination of Arabic and English interpretations of famous songs associated with the legendary Lebanese singer and the Rahbani Brothers.

For those who grew up listening to Fairuz, her songs can bring back memories of home, family gatherings and quiet mornings with familiar melodies playing in the background. For audiences discovering her music for the first time, this performance offers a welcoming introduction to a cherished part of Lebanon’s musical heritage.

Bringing Arabic and English together gives listeners another way to connect with these songs, opening their stories and emotions to people from different language backgrounds. It is an opportunity to enjoy familiar favourites from a fresh perspective and discover how much music can communicate across cultures.

Ahead of the performance, audiences can hear examples of the group’s approach through online clips of “Nassam Alayna al Hawa”, presented as “Gently Over Us the Breeze”, and “Sallouni al Nass”, presented as “I Was Asked by Everyone”.

The Elder Park setting also offers plenty of reasons to make an afternoon of it. OzAsia’s Lucky Dumpling Market brings together food, live music and cultural performances, giving visitors the chance to explore different flavours and enjoy the festival atmosphere alongside the entertainment.

Whether you are a lifelong Fairuz fan, someone with a connection to Lebanese culture, or simply looking for an enjoyable afternoon of music, this collaboration is an invitation to come together, listen and share the experience.

Bring your family, invite a friend and head to Elder Park this Saturday to support RTS Cultural and SAIMA as they share these much-loved songs with Adelaide.
