🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️ DOVER FUN RUN | SUNDAY 1 NOVEMBER 2026

A wonderful family event supporting a very special cause! ❤️

We are delighted to help spread the word about the Dover Fun Run, held in Tasmania’s beautiful Far South.

Every dollar raised goes directly to the Royal Hobart Hospital’s Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), supporting the incredible work these teams do for Tasmanian children and families.

The event has a particularly special meaning for one of our Academy families, whose niece Annabelle is here today thanks to the wonderful care she received at the Royal Hobart Hospital. ❤️

There’s something for everyone, with 21km, 10km, 5km and 2km events.

We would love to see plenty of our players and families getting involved. Whether you run, walk or cheer from the sidelines, it’s a fantastic opportunity to support a wonderful cause.

We saw an interesting study this morning from the University of Tasmania’s Menzies Institute for Medical Research.

Researchers followed people for more than 30 years and found that children and teenagers with better cardiorespiratory fitness had a lower risk of experiencing depression as adults.

The researchers are careful to point out that fitness is only one piece of a much bigger mental health picture, but it’s another really good reason to get our kids active.

At Morton’s Soccer School we obviously love football, but junior sport is about so much more than developing footballers.

Getting kids outside, getting them moving, making friends, building confidence and giving them somewhere they feel they belong all matter.

Sometimes the benefits of getting kids involved in sport might last much longer than we realise. ⚽️❤️

Mini Mortons fun with our amazing coaches Jarrah, Hamish and Isla! Plenty of smiles and touches on the ball. A great way to start their football journey at MSS!

Another exciting opportunity for one of our Academy players, with Zac Cornelson recently spending a week training with Sydney FC.

Zac has been part of our program throughout his youth football journey and has developed into an impressive young player and person.

The week gave Zac valuable experience in one of Australia’s leading academy environments, and we’re proud to continue helping our players access opportunities like these.

Well done Zac!

Francesca Johnstone Signs with Melbourne Victory! 💙⚽

A very proud moment for MSS, with Francesca Johnstone officially signing with Melbourne Victory Academy!

Francesca has been part of MSS from a young age (see last photo), and we're incredibly proud to see her hard work rewarded with this exciting opportunity.

After a trial with Melbourne Victory organised through the Soccer School, Francesca received extremely positive feedback and has now been offered a place in the Academy for 2027.

Congratulations Francesca - we can't wait to see what's next!

Congratulations to Sam Berezansky, who has been named the 2026 NPL Tasmania Best & Fairest! 🏆

Sam joined Morton's Soccer School in 2017 and has developed into one of Tasmania's standout players.

Incredibly, Sam's achievement makes it four years in a row that a Morton's Soccer School graduate has won the NPL Best & Fairest award - something we're extremely proud of.

Congratulations Sam, a fantastic reward for years of hard work and dedication!
