CCT has worked with interstate climbing organisations to compose a statement of support for the Arapilies Management Plan Draft addendum. You can read this here:

The Tasmania Parks and Wildlife Service is hosting a feedback session on the latest draft PWS Rock Climbing Policy for CCT members: Wednesday 3rd June, 5-6pm at Lands Building (134 Macquarie Street, Hobart)

This policy mostly relates to the placement of fixed anchors on PWS managed lands. The revised PWS draft has already been sent via email to all CCT members (including legacy thesarvo members). Send us an email if you want a copy.

Important: Please arrive by 4.50pm sharp. Front doors will be locked at 5pm and later arrivals can not be accommodated. Online attendance is available, see comments below for link.

Weather permitting, Hydro Tasmania will undertake burns in Poatina starting May 4. The burns will temporarily affect access to Blackwood Rocks and the nearby bouldering during this period.

The burn is a low intensity fuel reduction burn, and is unlikely to affect climbing anchors mounted in rock. Regardless, climbers in the area post-burn should inspect the integrity of anchors before use, and report any concerns to the CCT or the relevant crag stewards.

The Climbers Club of Tasmania is bringing back the photo competition - all action shots, crags, conservation work, adventure, history, and shenanigan photos are welcome.

To enter, upload your favorite Tasmanian climbing related photo/s you have taken to the comments below. The 12 photos with the most likes will be compiled into a 2026 calendar containing dates for crag seasons and Crag Care Tasmania working bees. Winners receive a free copy of the calendar!

CCT may also use uploaded photos for future socials posts and as a repository of Tassie climbing history. If you only want your photo to be entered in the comp, just put the text 'opt-out' when you post your photo, or send us a message saying something similar.
