This giant here is the future world's Strongest Man It was good to have a chat with him yesterday regarding all things equipped lifting. I'm sure the new briefs, suit and wrap combo will get Josh a few extra points in the squat event.

I got asked the other day by Chris where I fail in deadlifts, I responded I can't remember failing often, usually my programming is spot on and if I did the work I will get the numbers

This however was the lift I did not mention. 1000lbs that was the goal, I had one year to make this happen, the previous years I pulled 425.5kg. This was with a short prep and some lingering health issues, I decided then that 1000lbs or 454kg was possible if I put the work in, as for percentage increase it was 7% increase in 12 months, I identified that my quads where weak and I switched to sumo deadlift to build quad strength and help with patience as axle deadlift takes forever to move, it requires patience to stay in position and keep pulling. We use percentage based programming and I trust the programming, especially when you are on the platform, only you and the bar, you need to trust in something because if doubt creeps in you've missed the lift before you even attempt it.

I honestly believe if I've ticked all the boxes I should get the predicted numbers, it never fails unless something breaks and this time something broke, in hindsight I should have spent more time ensuring my hamstrings could handle the load if I got out of position. Anyway I tore a hamstring and missed the 1000lbs.

This video was 435kg that I pulled 10 days out of comp, this was doing my last heavy double at 420kg, the 420kg was so quick I asked coach Liz if we could do a heavy single to boost my confidence, 435kg was loaded and it moved well, that meant I needed 4% with a full 10 days of calorie surplus and rest.

Next year 1000lbs will be mine, I've identified my weaknesses and I will make them my strengths.

Yes this is 272.5kg the biggest deadlift by a female in Australia, yes she was last RAISING THE DEADS greatest female necromancer, yes this is a inspiration to so many woman on our team.

When we came up with the idea of RAISING THE DEAD deadlift only competition Jess was the first person I thought of, not only has she got the biggest deadlift in Australia but her KILLER image and badass attitude makes her an exciting as f**k GRRL to watch on the platform - as you all will be lucky enough to do if you make it down to the comp in February 🤘

Last RAISING THE DEAD Jess competed via video link from taking first place and the title of GREATEST FEMALE NECROMANCER this time we get to see her pull live. Then finally we get to have that drink together.

Have a listen to Liz and Terence catching up with , we talk about how Liz was not always so jacked and strong, the importance of getting a coach and finding a good group of people to train with, we find out that Terence is really old and was a better bench presser at 16 than he is now. We also discuss animals, we find out that a rhino gets transported upside down and Liz is somehow a cat.

At Peak Strength we have a chalk wok and in this chalk wok we have accumulated a few essentials, namely the ammonia, the whiskey, the screwdriver to change belts, the single board for bench, the spray bottle of water for equipped lifters and today was a program and a shirt we were signing for obviously there is chalk in the wok. Lifters and.coaches congregate around this wok, today we had coach Liz and I think today's discussion was all about lockout on the dead.
