Some call him Ivan the Terrible but last night, in the grand final, he was Ivan the Terrific!

Yes Mayfair Take Away Bowl'n'ators fans the grand final didn't go the team's way last night at the Howrah Hot House against the Ass Cracks, who under the strong influence of Ivan the Terrific took out top honours.

It was a close affair for most of the game with only single shots being claimed on each end but eventually the Ass Cracks opened up a slender advantage and that was that.

So a disappointing end to a strong season, but congratulations to the Ass Cracks.

Until next season
Go Bowl'n'ators!

Recovery progressing well for Jumpin' Joel Davie and Mayfair Take Away Bowl'n'ators secure a grand final spot against their greatest foe, the Ass Cracks!

But we start with the welcomed news that Jumpin' Joel Davie has progressed to basket weaving as his recovery gathers pace and he is once again speaking of a possible return to the green in the not too distant future... but like all of the sporting elite he is just taking it one basket weave at a time!

To help with his recovery, best buddy Backhand Baric has been staying with him at the recovery centre, providing moral support day and night and showing him videos of Joel at his greatest... granted it's not a long session, but just enough to generate that spark in Joel's eyes once again!

On to the Bowls and with the clouds full of water babies it was declared that all matches would be played inside under the roof of the Howrah Hot House and would be only 6 ends in duration... and as keen followers of the team would know, 6 end matches haven't been kind to them in the past.

But with a strong lineup the team got off to a great start securing 3 shots on the first end which gave them the confidence to play the game on their terms. And so they did, and despite a mini comeback from their very well respected opposition it was the team in red, white and black that got the "W" and a spot in the grand final next week.

So the minor premiership is secured and now all eyes turn to next Wednesday's grand final against the Ass Cracks. Whilst the match will be streamed on 7 plus, do yourself a favour and head to the Howrah Bowls Club and witness two titans of the game battle it out for supremacy! Match starts at 6:00 PM

Until next week
Go Bowl'n'ators!

He's safe!!!!

Thank you to everyone that helped locate our much loved Mayfair Take Away Bowl'n'ator Jumpin' Joel Davie. He is now back in rehab and looking good. We did think for a while that he had joined a cult, but luckily for all of his loved ones, he just lost a few marbles but is now on the road to recovery... Take all the time you need Joel 💕

On to the Bowls and your Bowl'n'ators played in a top of the table blockbuster as they took on the ladder leaders Pros and Cons under crisp blue skies at the Howrah Hot House. And it was your heroes that got off to a flyer as they fed off Leah's toucher to rack up 5 shots on the first end!

But the Pros and Cons aren't top for no reason and they struck back in style as they closed the gap to one shot after 4 ends. From there it was a seesawing match as these two goliaths of the game traded blows... but when it really counted Laser Eye Leah played the long ends to perfection saving the team's bacon time and time again.

So the match came down to the last end and literally the last bowl as your Bowl'n'ators somehow held out for victory as the Pros and Cons skip, who played magnificently all match, missed the jack by a hair with their last bowl to end a pulsating contest.

So onto next week and the last roster match of the home and away season where a grand final birth is the prize if victory is secured.

Until next week
Go Bowl'n'ators!

Have you seen this man?

Concerns are growing for the welfare of Jumpin' Joel Davie who hasn't been spotted on the bowling rink now for two weeks!

He was last seen chanting to himself "don't choke, don't choke!" as he was standing over a 1 foot putt, but alas he missed it by several inches, before running off into the bushes like a mad man with tears streaming down his rosy cheeks screaming at the top of his lungs!

It's so sad to see a once almost great athlete turn into a quivering mess, but we pray 🙏 he is found soon so he can continue his rehabilitation.

But on to the mighty Mayfair Take Away Bowl'n'ators who are fighting tooth and nail to gain a grand final spot, who again started with great intent only to find their steely eyed opposition up to the challenge as they traded blows in the early ends.

But this is when old Twinkle Toes himself Dancin' Dean Hosmer and Laser Eyed Leah came to the fore and produced precision pressure bowls to open up a gap and set up yet another Bowl'n'ators victory, in blindingly tough conditions at the Howrah Hot House.

Spurred on by a large crowd (Janet and Norman) the victory should see your heroes dressed resplendily tonight in black, white and red climb yet another spot on that all important ladder and close in on the top team whom they play next week.

Of note also are the Ass Cracks who are having a good back end (no pun, oh alright, pun intended!) to the season and are trying to force their way into finals contention, and wouldn't the fans love to see a Bowl'n'ators v Ass Cracks grand final!

But with two regular home and away matches left in the season all possibilities are excitingly still left on the table.

Until next week
Go Bowl'n'ators!

Breaking news.... Jumpin Joel Davie was detained by ICE this afternoon and was not able to take his spot in the team to play the very well respected Wilsons on show rink 4 at the Howrah Hot House tonight.

However it was not the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency that nabbed our beautiful lead, no, no, no, Joel self surrendered to the I Choke Everytime department.. a department set up to rehabilitate former almost great golfers, almost great basketballers and almost great barefoot bowlers who unfortunately crumble at those critical pressure moments in a match... We wish Joel well in his recovery and hope he is back in the side soon!

But with Joel's enforced absence it gave your Mayfair Take Away Bowl'n'ators the opportunity to hand a first cap to Leah who seamlessly slotted into the Number 2 position and played some beautiful bowls throughout the match in a great debut!

But the ⭐ of the night was old Twinkle Toes himself, Dancin' Dean Hosmer who put on a display of pin point bowling to create that positive pressure up front... and with backhand Baric backing up beautifully with bedazzling biased bowls your Bowl'n'ators bounced out to a strong lead early on.

After that the match evened out and it was end for end as the teams traded shots until victory was finally secured for your heroes in a tough and hard fought match.

So another victory and another step up the ladder and hopes are still alive for back to back premierships!

Until next week
