Yesterday the Nharangga NAIDOC Committee in collaboration with the Copper Coast Council and hosted by Point Pearce Aboriginal Corporation, held its first NAIDOC event in Gardina (Kadina).

There was a Welcome to Country done by me, a Smoking Ceremony done by Ben Rigney and Brian Goldsmith, Yidaki played by Jamie Goldsmith, Nharangga Elder Michael Wanganeen was the keynote speaker and also flag raiser. We had a beautiful performance by Marni Dhargarri Performing Arts with contemporary dance and also song including the premiere of her brand new song “Ngallugu Banggarilla” which means ‘On Our Country’. And plenty of stalls to engage with.

I’d also like to give a special mention to the Lions Club for providing the bbq, Tshara Smith-Rigney for being the emcee and to all those who contributed and attended to making the day the badja (deadly) one it was.

50 Years of DEADLY 🖤

I thought long and hard about putting something out this year but once I started designing this years hoodie I knew it was something I had to share.

I’ve put together a mock up of the hoodie and once I have the stock I’ll share more information.

This will be available in adult and children’s sizes.
