Trapping in North Queensland often sees me shifting from one property to the next, pulling traps out one day and putting them back in the next, sometimes only half hour further down the line. You need to be flexible and content with what life has in store for you.

Someone has her "nose out of joint" ! Moss has produced us a great young son called T-Rex due to his size but just like his mum, he wants the front seat as we run our trapline.

I know, no way can we even try to say good things about one of our worst ferals in this country, HOWEVER, one of the great things in life is to head bush with a couple of good mates and kill some feral pigs. Sensible and safe, ethical and moral recreational hunters are an asset to landholders and the environment. To watch this clip, go to our Patreon channel, McGhies Campfire.

Fair to say that there is "Trouble Ahead" in most areas of our lives. From the US to CA, during our travels and from the messages we receive, I know a lot of people feel the same way. In the area of wildlife management, too many people, too far from reality are having too much influence on too many crucial topics. Stand strong and firm good common sense people.

Working in the bush usually calls for you to be "on the go" from Daylight until Dark, which really isn't a bad thing at all. The two best times of the day are often missed by those who would rather sleep in, which "ain't us", eh Trumpy, Brandon, Moss, Rex........

A few years ago, while trapping on a distant hillside, I came across a simple steel cross. The whole area spooked me, something very sad happened there, so I started asking questions. The "truth" may never be known but by asking a lot of people and putting all accounts together, a story started to emerge.

Farming, especially cattle grazing, can be a severe business in any country but the Aussie bushland seems to be set on testing out your resolve at every turn. "When you have livestock, you have dead stock" my Grandad would say. Here was a chance to turn this to our advantage.

When you start a new trapline, sometimes you simply get off to a good start, things just seem to fall into place and this helps to keep you positive and inspired. Even my dogs felt it!!
