We’re so pleased to welcome former-Australian Netball Captain, @sharni_layton, to the Defender Burghley Horse Trials for the first time this week and who better to show her the ropes than top Aussie eventer Sammi @birchequestrian! Two inspiring women at the top of their game met at Defender Valley, where Sammi walked Sharni through her strategy for tackling this challenging section of the course, such a fascinating insight and conversation between two people who both understand elite level sport, but with huge differences between them.
