Progress over perfection
It’s simple in theory, hard in practise.
A little progress each session is the thing that will drive you towards goal. It doesn’t have to be perfect. If you’re always waiting for perfection, you’ll be stuck forever

It’s god damn got today! 🥵
Heat doesn’t just make things feel harder. It is harder for your body.
From performance drops to increased injury risk, the science is clear.
Swipe through to see what happens when you train in the heat, and how you can adjust smart to still get the work done.
Training in heat is not about proving you’re tough, it’s about showing you’re consistent, smart and ready.

Had the pleasure of handling these 3 legends (plus our emotional support marshmallow) at CAPO Nationals over the weekend.

Friday – Apple
Took on the Masters 82.5kg class and had an outstanding day going 9/9 with platform PRs across the board:
⚫️ 160kg Squat (+5kg)
⚫️ 102.5kg Bench (+2.5kg)
⚫️ 175kg Deadlift (+10kg)
For a huge 437.5kg total — a 17.5kg comp PR.

Saturday – Nicky
If you’ve seen Nicky lift before, you know anything can happen. She took it all in stride, going 7/9 — missing her final squat from cataplexy and her last deadlift as we went after a PR.
⚫️ 97.5kg Squat (+2.5kg)
⚫️ 67.5kg Bench (+2.5kg)
⚫️ 125kg Deadlift (switched stance, no cataplexy, just shy of her best)

Sunday – Dot
Dot came in off a short prep with a few ni**les and still gave it everything.
⚫️ 57.5kg Bench
⚫️ 112.5kg Deadlift
Missed her best lifts by a few kilos, but came in swinging and showed up when it mattered.

Training is supposed to be fun.

If you love running, run.
If you love lifting heavy, chase numbers.
If training to failure gets you fired up, go for it.
If you just like moving your body and feeling better, that’s more than enough.

There’s no right way to train.
But there is a wrong one and that’s forcing yourself to follow something you hate just because the internet said it works.

You’ll be way more consistent if you actually enjoy the process.

So whatever style keeps you showing up, do that.
The results always follow.

“How to Disappoint Your Coach” 😮‍💨

Want to know how to make your coach question everything?

It’s easy:
• Don’t send your training videos
• Ghost your check-ins
• Rock up 10 minutes late (with a smoothie in hand)
• Miss your session and say “I’ll do it later” (but never do)
• Change your program without telling us because “you saw a cool superset on TikTok”
• Wait until something hurts to tell us… 4 weeks later
• Only reply with “yep” when we send detailed feedback

We’re not mad.
Just deeply, deeply disappointed.

Jokes aside, coaching works best when it’s a two-way street.

The more you communicate, the more we can help.
We want to be in your corner.
We want to make adjustments that keep you progressing.
But we’re not mind readers.

You don’t have to be perfect.
You just have to stay in touch.

So if you’ve been a little MIA lately, this is your nudge.
Flick us a message. Let’s get things back on track. 👊

Back pain doesn’t mean your week’s ruined.

I flared mine up on Saturday — attempted a 1RM the next. Didn’t hit it… but I trained, made progress, and didn’t dig the hole deeper.

The steps?
✅ Saw a physio
✅ Did my rehab homework
✅ Moved pain free
✅ Stayed consistent

If you’re stuck or scared of training with a ni**le — flick us a message.
We’ve helped dozens through similar situations (and probably done dumber things ourselves).
