Let’s be clear — the claim that Lakemba Dynamites received special treatment is completely false.
We followed the exact same process as every other team. Match timing was set, and like everyone else, we only requested AM or PM. No special treatment, no exceptions.
Round of 16 on the 22nd was announced well before Eid. We adjusted our squad and were ready to play — despite Ramadan and family commitments, just like everyone else.
Our opponent wasn’t ready and they gave a walkover. This was communicated to us and was fully within the rules.
After that, the committee changed decisions and you said committee can do whatever they feel better.
Matches were selectively postponed
We were still ready to play Opponents were still not ready.
So in reality, the walkover situation already existed because the other team couldn’t field players.
Then things became real inconsistent:
Promises fade away.
We were told we wouldn’t be scheduled on the 29th March — that commitment was broken.
We were repeatedly pushed to play on the 29th March or take a walkover
Alternative days were explored (Good Friday) yet again the opponent wasn’t ready
Through all of this, we stayed ready. The opposition didn’t.
Then came the most questionable decision:
We were forced to play two knockout games in one day — something unheard of in this community.
We clearly said we didn’t agree
We were still pushed into it.
Meanwhile, another quarterfinal was moved to the next week — even though those teams were ready to play
So how is that consistent?
We were told discussions would happen with other team whom we faced later stage in quarter final. That never happened.
If anything, we were put at a disadvantage:
Constant schedule changes
Broken commitments
Different rules applied to different teams
We didn’t get favours — we dealt with poor consistency.
So Before blaming any team, the committee needs to take responsibility for how this was handled.
