Mackay District Bowls

Congratulations to all who played in the 2026 MMDBA/MDLBA Pennant season and well done to the winners of each division.
Division One: Souths Suburban (The Club will play in the State Final to be played at Coolum Beach Bowls Club in late November).
Division Two: Club Northern Beaches (The Club will play in the State Final to be played at the Capalaba Sports Club in late November)
Division Three: Winner still to be decided. The final round between Pioneer Valley and North Mackay will be played on Sunday 12 July due to a washout on Sunday). The winner of this division will play a Zone Final against Leichhardt District in Mackay late September and the Zone winner will play in the State final at North Mackay Bowls Club late November.
Division Four: Airlie Beach
Division Five: Northern Beaches
Division Six: Sarina.

Days 2 and 3 have not been as productive for the District men's side, winning two games and losing four. But their efforts still have them in the second division in the payoffs tomorrow against Sunshine Coast, Moreton Bay and Gateway.
The Mackay ladies are also in the second division after winning 5 of their 9 matches. they will play against Fraser Coast, North Queensland and Cunningham.

Teams skipped by Ray Kurtz, Peter Blackburn and Wayne Handley were undefeated while Manny Isgro lost just one game..

North Q'ld won the Challenge Cup at Club Northern Beaches at the weekend, winning all three games for 9 points ahead of Mackay A on 6 and Mackay B on 3.
Round 1 Mackay A defeated Mackay B 55-44 and North Q'ld defeated Far North Q'ld 55-54.
Round 2 Mackay A 65 Far North Q'ld 38 and North Q'ld defeated Mackay B 51-42.
Round 3 North Q'ld 48 Mackay A 43 and Mackay B 46 defeated Far North Q'ld 36.

We wish our bowlers every success in the Northern Challenge to be played at Club Northern Beaches on Saturday.
Mackay has two teams of 12 playing and they meet in the first game before facing teams from the Far North and North Qld.
All three games will be played on the one day.
