There was one thing I really wanted to achieve this year…
My first pull-up.
And today was the day! 🥹💪🏼
Going for full lockout, chin over the bar:
Set 1 — 1 rep
Set 2 — 2ish reps
Set 3 — 1 rep
Set 4 — 1ish rep
I was pretty bloody chuffed with myself. FINALLY! 🙌🏼
My training year has been cut short, I didn't think I quite do it yet.
But I thought… why not try anyway?
And I'm so glad I did.
I’ve only got one workout left before my surgery, then, all going well, it’s a 6-week recovery.
And honestly? This has left me even more excited to get back into training.
But I won’t rush it.
I only want to recover once. There’s absolutely no point rushing back too soon and potentially prolonging my recovery.
And ladies, this is your reminder not to get so caught up in using exercise to “burn calories” that you forget what exercise can actually help you become capable of.
Stronger.
Fitter.
More confident.
More capable.
A pull-up was never about how many calories I could burn.
It was about being able to do something I couldn't do before.
When you shift your focus from what exercise can take away from your body to what it can help you achieve, eventually everything kind of falls into place. ❤️
