French made Gauthier ads from 1981. This company made racquets for many decades. I don't know the span but would guess at least 1940's to 1990's.

USA 1978 range which is a great era for wood to metal to composite to graphite racquet evolution.

Slazenger X10 and many other great models.
Fansteel....graphite pioneer (first Slazenger model in graphite)
Dura Fiber graphite, launch of Head Vilas, Aldila Gemini to name a few.

Birth of many Ski company racquets at this time given their work in fibreglass and graphite.

New entrants caught the traditional companies by surprise as the market changed.

Emrik Australia in the 1980's signed Evonne Goolagong, Wally Masur and Kim Warwick. Evonne and Kim both had named models. The company began in squash but then realised the big tennis brands weren't moving quickly enough into new materials from wood and started bringing in new wood, metal and composite models.... these were sourced from various factories. Evonne used the STRATUS model in match play and therefore is the most decorated player to do so. Kim Warwick used the CONDOR

1997 Ad for the comeback of the double strung BLACKBURNE tenis racquet, originally banned due to claims of double hitting. Once proven that a ball only ever hit one surface the ban was reversed hence this great comeback ad. The concept wasn't unique to 1987 though, it was tried, as many ideas were, back in 1881.
