Dear Diary... I wish this image represented the room I was walking into today to commence 5 full days of training.

I know this week will be a stretch. Full days of virtual training with a corporate client. Co-facilitating virtually with a subject matter expert.

I need to bring fun, keep the engagement levels up, confirm participant understanding and keep us on track. These are my strengths, I've got this!

Although, Im tired. The build up, the past 2 weeks to get here, ready to train has been big. Long hours, stressful, uncertain, out of my control.. all the things I hate.

But.. I'm proud. I'm proud of myself for not giving up, sticking with it. I'm lucky to have insight into controlling my emotions, reframing my thoughts, taking brain breaks and grounding when needed. #onlylostitafewtimes #weallhuman

I reflect on the weeks leading up, I take lessons into this week. I am grateful for all that I have... grateful for this work, the team of facilitators, the highs and the lows.

I will do my best and that's all anyone can do โค

Who needs another day in the weekend? ๐Ÿ™‹โ€โ™€๏ธ

This is where you'll find me for a few weeks, behind my laptop! Building virtual training for a corporate client then virtually co-facilitating with another trainer.

Timelines are tight. Pressure to deliver. Perfectionist traits not serving me. The normal tech issues creep up. Then add the complexity of covid, lockdown, home learning.

So much to deal with. Some days are easier than others. I do my best to start with exercise and or meditation. I practice breathing and calming anxiety throughout the day. Hydrate. Coffee. Fuel my body with good food.

All we can ever do is our best.
Take control of our emotions.
Reframe each situation.
Learn and adapt.

A perfect time to have a MINDFUL moment. Tap into all of your senses.

โ˜• Smell the aroma

โ˜• Feel the warmth of the cup on your hands

โ˜• Look at the colour and textures

โ˜• Listen to the noises around you, near and far

โ˜• Then slowly sip, enjoy the taste, what do you taste, any subtle flavours coming through

Allow yourself to take mini brain breaks throughout your day. Small mindful moments help. Now take a deep breath in and out, smile and have a wonderful day ๐Ÿ˜Š

You enter the meeting room, your Manager is on the phone looking flustered and talking fast in a direct tone. They hang up, look up and give you a small acknowledgement, then sit there tapping on the keyboard. You sit. You wait.

Thoughts running through your mind, they are always so busy. I have so much on my plate at the moment, I could be finishing off that report that is due by the end of the day. I wonder if they have prepared anything, I have spent hours pulling together my comments and behavioural competency examples.

Are we going to get started? I hope this isnโ€™t postponed. Maybe it was HR on the call. I havenโ€™t done anything wrong. Business is struggling, results are down at the moment. Is today my turn for a redundancy? If I lose my job today, what would I do? How long could we survive without my income?

How quickly our thoughts and emotions can take over and lead us down the garden path. Of course, it sets the scene of us located in an office, working together with our teams. Our current working environment looks a little different. Which is why it is important for you to have even more effective conversations with your employees.

I focus on achievements. When you run your own business there are always SO many tasks on the to do list. ๐Ÿ—’

This habit has been a game changer for me - less stress, less pressure and a nice way to finish my official work week. ๐Ÿ˜Š

If I then choose to work on a weekend, anything extra is a bonus! โœ…

Sometimes we need to slow down and listen to our body. How often do you tap into how you are feeling? ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ’ญ๐Ÿง˜โ€โ™€๏ธ

This week I felt tired, my body was trying to tell me, I kept ignoring it, working harder and longer days, then staying up too late.๐Ÿ˜”

Thursday my body decided to shut down. Exhaustion set in with a big headache all day. I was on go slow. Too tired to eat dinner. ๐Ÿ˜ด

Today I feel much better, not 100% but a lot better than yesterday. I listened to my body. Worked and rested. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Im feeling grateful for a free weekend. Time to rest and refresh, ready for a fun week ahead!

Remember to listen to your body's signals AND be grateful for each day you feel amazing! ๐Ÿ’•

Caught up with my girlfriend, it's even better when your hubby's and kids get along ๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ‘งโ€๐Ÿ‘ฆ๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ‘ฆโ€๐Ÿ‘ฆ

I'm ready to regain some more routine tomorrow both kids back to school. Feeling refreshed and focused, ready for a successful week ๐Ÿ˜Š

๐Ÿ“ธ Me! when in amazing Byron Bay (can't wait to go back ๐Ÿ˜)

I used to feel guilty for sitting down and taking a break. Mind you, most of the time when I did finally sit, it was to read a book (related to business) ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ

FYI - that's not a break ๐Ÿ™…โ€โ™€๏ธ

Over time I have given myself permission to pause. Oh, what a difference it makes. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Sometimes I fall back into old habits and read articles or watch some webinars - but I try to do it away from my office, set up on the couch, in a more relaxed setting - baby steps! ๐Ÿ˜†
