Willowbank Raceway Street Series RD2 didn’t quite go to plan tonight.

Conditions weren’t the best, so no PBs, best qualifying pass was a 14.45. Dialled in at 14.40 for a RD1 finals rematch against Matty Barron, but unfortunately the car ran a 14.57 which handed him the win and levels us up at 1–1.

Plenty to take away from it though, we’ll get another crack at each other and I’ll be looking to redeem that one.

On a better note, the starter team Merchant Family Racing had a solid night with Dean making it to the semi-finals, so he’s got bragging rights this round with the most laps under his belt.

All in all still a good night. Lesson for the kids (and me) you win some, you lose some… and tonight we drew the short straw.

All cleaned up, waxed and loaded, ready for tomorrow night’s Street Series

The FG’s looking a lot more presentable now and ready to hit the track.

More to come over the weekend

Picked up a few new toys for the FG today.

Gave it a proper wash — turns out cars don’t clean themselves if you ignore them long enough.

Started giving it some love with the polisher and compound, taking it slow and working panel by panel. Already starting to bring the paint back to life. Especially doing it for the first time.

Wheels could definitely be better, but past me decided to buy the most annoying ones to clean… cheers for that.

Keen to see how it comes up once it’s all finished. Nothing beats seeing the shine come back.

Not the easiest day by any stretch — high temps, a car that wasn’t always consistent, and plenty of adapting between runs… but we got it done 💪

Stayed focused, made the right calls when it mattered, and locked in the first win of the season. Super proud to kick things off this way despite the challenges thrown at us.
