So this is a personal post, but I promise it has a purpose.
This incredible woman, my grandma, just turned 96. So I’ve been reflecting…
I know some of that is just luck, but I truly believe her mindset and the way she has moved through her life is part of it.
At 96, she still does her exercises at home, tends to her garden, dances in her kitchen and plays with her great grandchildren.
She has known poverty, hunger, war & heartbreak. But she is the person who taught me that every wrinkle is an honour and earned, that every day you age is a privilege and that your body is something to be nurtured and celebrated because it is what carries you through it all.
So many of my values have been shaped by her. I hope she can be a little reminder that your body is not a project to fix but the home for an incredible life.
These beautiful photos were captured by local Cooranbong photographer Shannon Smith - La Bella Vita Photography for her Golden Age collection.
