🦈 WELCOME KRISTEN WEBBER! 🦈

We’re pleased to announce that Kristen Webber has been appointed as our Women’s Championship Coach for the upcoming season! 💙🩵

Kristen is a familiar and highly respected face around Latrobe and the wider Gippsland cricket community, joining us late last season with her husband Barney and boys, Tom and Jack.

With more than 25 years of volunteering across all aspects of cricket, Kristen has dedicated her time to growing the game and helping provide equal opportunities for players from regional areas.

Her involvement across Gippsland cricket is extensive, including:

🏏 Manager & Selector – VCCL/ACCC Women’s Representative Teams (2023–2026)
🏏 Wicketkeeper – VCCL Team of the Year 2023–24
🏏 Helped establish the Women’s Competition in LVDCL
🏏 All Abilities Coordinator – Gippsland Cricket & VCCL
🏏 Assistant Secretary & Women’s Coordinator – VCCL
🏏 Secretary – Gippsland Cricket
🏏 George W. Munroe Award recipient for Junior Development
🏏 South Veterans Premiership Captain
🏏 Women’s Championship Team of the Year
🏏 Extensive coaching experience across Milo Cricket, Woolworths Cricket Blast, girls’ cricket, representative cricket and Marist cricket

Kristen brings a wealth of knowledge, experience and passion for developing players and growing the game. We’re excited to have her share her tips, tricks and cricket knowledge while helping our women develop their skills, confidence and love for the game.

We’re back at our ground tonight as we continue building towards the season.

We’ll continue with a mix of skills, fielding and game-based activities. If the wet weather hangs around, we’ll still get plenty done with some games, fielding and other activities planned.

We’re also excited to welcome back Ed Hopper after his off-season playing Rugby in Canberra! 🏉➡️🏏

Coach’s Report – Indoor Nets Week 3

Fantastic turnout on Friday night! 👏

There was plenty of energy from the group, and that energy translated into great intent throughout the session. It was great to see players embracing the challenges and starting to put the standards we’ve been working on into practice.

We saw plenty of good signs across both batting and bowling.

Just as importantly, there is still plenty of room for improvement — and that’s exactly where we want to be at this stage of pre-season.

We’re not chasing perfection. We’re building habits, learning what works, identifying what needs work and getting 1% better every session.

The message moving forward

Turn up.
Train with intent.
Compete in everything.
Learn from each other.
Get better.

Our first outdoor session is now just around the corner, and the work we’ve put in indoors is giving us a solid foundation to build from.
