🇦🇺 David Roberts represented Australia in the Men’s 50s and had the honour of being Flag Bearer.

👏 Ant Smith also represented Australia as a referee, reaching the incredible milestone of 100 Test Caps.

What a milestone! 👏👏👏

From our juniors coming through the pathway to our experienced players and officials representing Australia - this is what being part of the Lions is all about.

Congratulations to everyone who has pulled on the green and gold, taken the whistle or represented Hornsby on the national and international stage.

Brad has come through the Hornsby Touch pathway, representing Hornsby with distinction and consistently committing himself to every opportunity along the way.

To see one of our Hornsby juniors appointed Sydney Scorpions NYC Boys Club Captain is something our whole club should be incredibly proud of. 👏👏👏

Brad’s commitment, consistency, humility and leadership both on and off the field make him a fantastic role model for our younger players.

🦂SYDNEY SCORPIONS TFA NYC BOYS CLUB CAPTAIN - BRADLEY NEWMAN 🦂

Sydney Scorpions are proud to announce Bradley Newman as the Boys Club Captain for the upcoming TFA National Youth Championships.

Brad’s appointment is a significant achievement not only for him, but also for his home affiliate, Hornsby. While Hornsby is traditionally one of Scorpions’ smaller affiliates, Brad has risen through its pathway with determination, consistency, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. His elevation to Club Captain is a testament to both his personal drive and the quality of development and support from his club.

Across every stage of his representative journey, Brad has embodied a Scorpions first mentality. Whether at Junior Regionals, NYC, or the NTL Under 20s, he has consistently made himself available for every campaign, every opportunity, and every challenge. His reliability and loyalty have become defining traits of his contribution to the Scorpions program.

On the field, Brad is an outstanding athlete - dynamic, disciplined, and impactful. Off the field, he brings a calm, composed demeanour that naturally steadies and lifts those around him. His ability to lead without noise, to support without fanfare, and to inspire through action makes him an ideal fit for the role of Club Captain.

Bradley Newman represents the best of what Sydney Scorpions stands for: commitment, humility, performance, and pride in the region. We congratulate on this well earned honour and look forward to his leadership at the National Youth Championships.
