🇬🇧🏏 REDS ABROAD 🏏🇬🇧

We were advised today that Mt Martha Cricket Club’s Will Fitzgerald, affectionately known around the club as “Fitzy”, made a late decision to spend the winter playing cricket in the UK with Knowle Cricket Club in Bristol.

After only a couple of innings, Fitzy has already announced himself in style, bringing up his maiden century for the club on Sunday in a brilliant knock.

🔥 139 runs from 101 balls
💥 15 fours
🚀 6 sixes
⚡ Strike Rate: 137.62

Knowle CC described it as “just the start and the first of many big scores” — and we couldn’t agree more.

It’s fantastic to see one of our young Reds making the most of an overseas opportunity and representing Mt Martha Cricket Club so well on the other side of the world.

Congratulations Fitzy! We look forward to following your season and seeing plenty more runs over the English summer. ❤️🏏

🔴⚫️ WELCOME TO THE REDS, ROB WILLIS! ⚫️🔴

Mount Martha Cricket Club is excited to announce our first signing for Season 2026/27 — Rob Willis!! 👏

Originally from the UK, Rob is now living and working on the Peninsula as a physio at Pinnacle alongside Pete Gayfer. Many around the MPCA will already know Rob from his time at Dromana, while most recently he’s been playing his cricket in Tasmania with Woodbridge Cricket Club.

Rob is a class top-order batter, but even more importantly, an outstanding bloke who we know will fit perfectly into the culture and community of our great club ❤️🖤

Last season for Woodbridge, Rob piled on:
🏏 632 runs at 48.62
🔥 Including five 50+ scores across the season

We can’t wait to see Rob pulling on the red and black this summer. Welcome aboard, Rob! 👊

❤️ Happy Mother’s Day from Mt Martha Cricket Club ❤️

Today we celebrate all the amazing mums, grandmothers and carers who are such an important part of our cricket club.

From scoring on the sidelines, playing on the field, early morning starts, countless washes of whites and endless support from the boundary, your dedication helps make our club what it is.

Thank you for every lift to training, every cheer from the sidelines and every moment spent supporting our players and teams throughout the season.

To all the cricket mums in our Reds family — we hope you have a fantastic Mother’s Day and know how much you are appreciated. ❤️🏏

A special moment for the Reds ❤️🖤

At our recent Presentation Night, we proudly awarded Life Membership to former President Andrew Gill in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the Mt Martha Cricket Club.

Gilly’s impact spans over a decade, with 11 years at the club, including 68 games, 2nd XI captaincy, and two-time 2nd XI Team Champion. But it’s his tireless work off the field that truly defines his legacy.

From 4 years as Woolworths Blast Coordinator to 8 years on the committee, including roles as Junior Coordinator and President for 6 years, Gilly has been at the heart of our club’s growth.

He was instrumental in:

* Introducing, developing, and coaching our first junior girls team
* Re-establishing our women’s team
* Strengthening the future of the Reds for generations to come

Gilly, your dedication, leadership, and passion for the club have left a lasting mark. Congratulations on a richly deserved Life Membership 👏

This ANZAC Day, we remember.

At Mt Martha Cricket Club, we pause to honour the bravery, sacrifice and mateship of all those who have served our country.

Footy’s on hold, cricket’s done for the season—but the spirit of mateship that defines our club is the same one we reflect on today.

Take a moment today—whether it’s at the dawn service, with family, or quietly yourself—to pay your respects.

Lest we forget ❤️
