TXR RUNNERS vs AUSTRALIA

Over the weekend we had a contingent of TXRians head to Ballarat for the Australian Cross Country Championships. We fielded 13 runners in individual and relay events from U12 through to 50+ and came away with some awesome results. Including:

• 5 medals won by 3 runners (Alby P, Cassie S & Andrew C)
• 7 Top-10 finishes
• 13 Top-20 finishes

True to TXR culture, we took on the challenge at our own levels, competing against our peers and ourselves and showing massive support for everyone’s efforts across the weekend, ranging from Cassie S’ individual and team medals in the U16 Girls race through to Rupert vD & Steve K teaming up to get their 50+ mixed relay team home in 5th place (of 5) in the last event of the weekend.

This event has races for everyone, from U11 to 80+, from the public race on Saturday morning to the Open National Championship races.

And no matter how fast you are, everyone has to clean the mud off their own shoes!

Dear TXR Runners ,

As the year winds down and the holiday season envelops us in its warmth, I want to take a moment to reflect on what we’ve accomplished together as a club.
This year, we’ve braved rain, wind, sunshine, and the occasional early alarm, all in the name of our shared love for running. We’ve conquered new distances, smashed personal bests, and, most importantly, built friendships that go the distance.
Running is more than just putting one foot in front of the other, it’s about perseverance, camaraderie, and finding joy in every stride, even on the toughest days. As we enter this holiday season, let’s celebrate not just the kilometres we’ve run but the connections we’ve formed and the goals we’ve achieved.
May the holidays bring you rest, laughter, and perhaps a few guilt-free indulgences, because we all know January will have us back out there, chasing new challenges together.
Thank you for making this club more than a team, it’s a family.
Here’s to a holiday season filled with joy and to many more segments on Strava in the new year.
Happy Holidays and Happy Running from myself and the whole TXR Committee!

President, TXR Runners

Happy Birthday TXR Runners!

It’s been 12 years since the term “TXR” entered the running lexicon. Kudos to Matty Morris and Rupert van Dongen for their vision in setting the seeds for a club that has exceeded their wildest dreams.

While our original committee have gone on different paths, they will never be forgotten! (You know who you are…. 😉 )

We have always prided ourselves on being at the cutting edge and the exemplar of running clubs. As our popularity increases, we face new challenges that no other club does but we take them face on.

A dozen years down, many more to come! 💙🧡🩵

The Rain didn't keep these amazing humans away from Berwick Waters Parkrun this morning. It was great seeing all of the 💙🧡 support, and can't wait until the next one.

It was great to see a few TXR Runners head out to The Bird Run this morning. It was a perfect opportunity for us to join multiple clubs from across the state to enjoy what we all love. There were some famous faces out on the trail, and there were lots of funny stories of trail runs gone mad and some inspiring tails of strength and endurance.
This is what running is all about, doing what you love with likeminded people 💙🧡
