DAY 29 DONE βοΈ
Running report: not much to report today. Nice day, good run. One more to go and I am very excited. π§‘
That is 1,224.38km since 1 September, and tomorrow I run the last one.
MARATHON 30 IS TOMORROW AND I WOULD LOVE YOU THERE π
π
Wednesday 30 September
β° From 7.00am
π Netball Courts, 104 Pitts Lane, Putta Bucca, Mudgee
π Finishing around 12.30pm
Run, walk, or come and cheer for as much or as little as you like. I am running it for our friend Todd Walsh, so please wear your loudest and brightest. I will have Salt-N-Pepa going in his memory, there will be bum kicks along the way, and if I have anything left at the finish I will attempt a one handed push up in his honour.
This was my last video, so I want to thank the people who got me here.
My podiatrist Phil Perry. My physio Liz Channon, and Kit for pilates, both at Stride Health Mudgee and Gulgong. Amy at Funk Fitness for my PT. And my running coach Nick Kastelein at Nick Kastelein Coaching, who I could not have reached this stage without, for all the injury prevention and strengthening work.
2MG Mudgee, ABC Western Plains and the Mudgee Guardian for getting the word out and helping raise awareness and donations.
Kylie at ProfitAbility Virtual Assistance. She has looked after all the socials, the media releases, the T-shirt designs, the website design and updates.
Col at Col Boyd Photography for the photography. At a moment's notice he turns up for website shots, for socials, or for Cancer Council NSW, always obliging and always supportive, and a cancer survivor himself.
My kids, who have missed out on a fair bit and have worked around my running the whole way, including Henry peeling me up off the floor when my legs were too stiff to get up on my own.
My husband Darrin, who believed I could do this back in August when I did not believe it myself.
My mum and my sister, who has sent me a funny encouragement song every single day since 1 September, and my in-laws.
Thank you for all of your support and love. π§‘
One last thing. This month has shown me how hardcore our bodies are. We can fight cancer, but we have to give our bodies the best chance, and that means acting early. If something does not feel or look quite right, get it checked. It might turn out to be nothing at all, and that is peace of mind. In my own family, acting quickly is the reason people I love are still here.
29 down. 1 to go. π Every kilometre is raising funds for Cancer Council NSW.
