Picture for attention because Stormi seemed to get quite a few views last month and AI is very clever!
I’ve actually been thinking about this for the past week, so I thought I’d put it out there and see what people think…
Last week, our CEO Andrew and I had a briefing from the wonderful Erin from the Murray Bridge Lifesaving Club , and it was really inspiring to hear about the work they’re doing with people of all ages, from young children right through to adults.
As you probably know, Council doesn’t have a huge amount of resources available to establish programs like this ourselves, but it got me wondering whether there might be interest in one or more of our River towns in starting something similar.
Erin is very keen to help any community that might be interested in exploring the idea, and I’d be more than happy to talk with any Progress Association, community group, sporting club or group of interested locals and help make that connection.
With the River such a big part of life in Mid Murray, anything that helps build water confidence, lifesaving skills and stronger community connections is worth exploring.
So if this is something you think your town might be interested in, please comment your town below!
