💙 A GRADE E-SCORING TRIAL 💙
We’re trialling e-scoring for A Grade Junior games during Summer Competition!
Paper scoring will still be used, so we have a backup while we test out e-scoring.
⚠️The only age groups/divisions participating are 10A, 11A, 12A, Int 1 and JD 1
⚠️Two scorers are required for each game
⚠️The home team will use e-scoring, while the opposing team will use the paper scoresheet
Here’s what A Grade teams need to know on gaining ACCESS to e-scoring 👇
📱 PROCESS:
•The Team Manager (or someone with management access) creates the e-scoring invitation through the NetballHQ app. The team manager will be added to the team by your club.
• The person doing the actual scoring does NOT need a PlayHQ account or the NetballHQ app. They just need a phone or tablet with internet access.
📝 BEFORE THE GAME:
Before inviting a temporary scorer, make sure you have:
• The scorer’s first and last name
• The scorer’s device with them
• A way to send the scoring link, such as text message, email or Messenger
🔗 HOW TO INVITE YOUR SCORER"
In the NetballHQ app:
1. Go to Team → Select your game
2. Tap the ⋮ Game Actions menu
3. Select Invite Scorer
4. Enter the scorer’s first and last name
5. Tap Done
⚠️ Make sure you tap Done before closing the screen or the invitation won't be created.
6. A unique scoring link will be generated.
Tap 'Share' to send it directly or Copy Link and send it to your scorer.
⏰ WHEN CAN THE SCORER START?
The link can be created before game time, but the scorer can only actually access the game within 15 minutes of the scheduled start time.
If they open it earlier, they will see a message saying the game isn't scheduled yet.
📱 VERY IMPORTANT: ONE DEVICE ONLY!
The scoring link is locked to the first device it is opened on.
So:
❌ Don't open the link on your phone to check it and then send it to your scorer.
❌ Don't forward the link to another device.
✅ Make sure the scorer opens the link on the device they will use for the game.
If they need to change devices, the Team Manager will need to generate a new link.
👤 NEED TO CHANGE SCORERS?
Only one active scoring link can exist for a game.
If you generate a new link, the old one is immediately disabled.
So make sure your scorer is ready before generating a replacement link.
🏐 DURING & AFTER THE GAME
The scorer uses the link in their web browser to record the game.
Once the game result has been submitted, the e-scoring link automatically expires.

This is a TRIAL, so please be patient while we test the system and work through any teething issues.
Paper scoring remains in place during the trial, so please continue with your paper scoresheet as well.
