Kabul Knight Riders secured an exciting 12-run victory over Newcastle Watchmen in a closely contested T20 match. π π π€πͺπ½ππ₯
After being sent in to bat, the Knight Riders posted a competitive total of 147 runs. The innings was built around excellent half-centuries from Tomas Conaghan (56)π€΄ and Sam Gallagherπ(61), who laid a strong foundation. A late cameo from Awais Rafiq, scoring a quick 17 runs, provided valuable momentum and helped push the total to a challenging score.
In response, Newcastle Watchmen remained in the hunt throughout the chase. However, disciplined bowling and crucial breakthroughs kept the pressure on the opposition. Sam Gallagher π§ββοΈ starred with the ball as well, claiming three important wickets. Mohabatpal Bhatt π₯ and Abdul Jamily π― bowled with great control during the middle overs, taking two wickets each and restricting the scoring rate.
With the Watchmen requiring 25 runs from the final three overs, Kabul Knight Riders held their nerve. Awais Rafiq πͺ§ β‘οΈ delivered outstanding 17th and 19th overs, conceding just 9 runs in total. Mohabatpal Bhatt then sealed the victory with a superb final over, giving away only 4 runs while taking a crucial wicket.
Fielding was a brilliant as the bowling! Four brilliant catches by Dadullah Hedayatullah π¦
, Awais Rafiq and an outstanding catch behind the stump by Muhammad Nafiz π§€ π§€ changed the momentum of the game.

Congratulations on our first win against Wallsend United. Well played everyone! π π π€ π₯³ πͺπ½
A fantastic team effort from start to finish.
Batting: A great opening partnership by Tomas (66 off 53) and Navneel (47 off 33) set the foundation beautifully, followed by a quickfire 32 off 20 from Hekmatullah to give us strong momentum.
Bowling: A brilliant start by Awais Rafiq, tight and disciplined overs from Paul Singh, and an outstanding spell by Hekmatullah, claiming 4 wickets including a hat-trick, turned the game firmly in our favour. Dadullah 2 wickets in an over wrapped up the 1st innings.
Fielding: Excellent work in the field with an outstanding catch by Nic, while Dadullah pulled off an amazing catch in square leg.
Special mention to our talented wicketkeeper Nafiz for his 3 outstanding catches and sharp work behind the stumps, which was one of the highlights of the fielding performance.
This was a true team performance, with everyone contributing to this memorable first win.
