Locally moderate to heavy rainfall is likely over the next few days in southern and central Queensland. 🌧🌧

Now is the time to ensure you are prepared and reconsider your plans.

Widespread minor flooding is likely from Tuesday, with locally moderate to major flooding possible in the areas of heaviest rainfall.

With many catchments already saturated, flash flooding is likely so make sure you have a Plan B. Remember, never walk, ride or drive through floodwater.

An Initial Flood Watch has been issued by the Bureau of Meteorology, so make sure you stay up-to-date with any further warnings issued.

Remember as legitimate road users, a cyclist has the same rights and responsibilities as other road users which means they MUST obey Queensland Road Rules for Cyclists - it’s the law. Not someone’s well meaning opinion or interpretation of it , or what they have been told. Heres one for the long weekend

You must:
• never ride your bicycle across a pedestrian crossing, children’s crossing or marked foot crossing (crossing with lights) unless there is also a bicycle light at the crossing showing a green bicycle crossing light
• dismount from your bicycle and walk across.
