Your APY Thunder Team for 2026!

Bus from Marla tomorrow at 5pm. Please be there by 4pm!

Remember to bring all things you need for 3-4 nights, footy boots, active wear (shorts, runners, etc.) for team activities, comfy clothes for afternoons. Make sure you have signed the consent forms!

Players will arrive back in Marla at 11am Friday.

Good morning APY,

APY Thunder Consent Forms are now being shared. Please note, this form does NOT mean you have been selected for the trip. It is an agreement that you have received consent from a parent or guardian if you are U18, and that you agree to the rules and standards we expect from a representative.

All players that are selected need to have this formed signed and handed back to SANFL on Monday at Marla or earlier...

Just for forward planning regarding the upcoming APY Thunder Team and travel arrangements.
After the APY Thunder Trial tomorrow at Pukatja a travelling squad will be selected to come to Adelaide on Monday 1st June.
Those that make the squad will need to be at Marla Roadhouse by no later than 4.30pm on Monday 1st June.
The team will travel to Adelaide and stay at the West Beach Caravan Pk Bunk House at West Beach.
All meals and accommodation will be provided.
Monday – Travel
Tuesday – Off site activities with SAPOL
Wednesday – AFL Max
Thursday – Leadership session & Game Day
Thursday / Friday – Travel
The APY Thunder Team will play Yirara College team at Adelaide Oval on Thursday 4th June starting at 4.00pm. This game is a curtain raiser to the Adelaide v Geelong AFL game. Limited tickets for players & staff only.
After the AFL game players will make their way back to the bus to start the trip home.
The APY Thunder team will be coached by Craig Woods (Mutitjulu) with assistant from Darry Doolan (Finke) and Zibeon Fielding (Mimili). Darryl & Zibeon will be on the bus with the players to help get them safely to Adelaide.
What will they need to bring?
1. Football boots – Player will be provided with Guernsey/shorts/socks for the game
2. Training guernsey / runners / training shorts / boots
3. Toiletries
4. Clean change of clothes
5. All bedding will be supplied – pillows, sheets & blanket but it might pay to pack an extra blanket or sleeping bag in case it gets cold.
6. All meals will be provided
7. Spending money
Bailey Gaskin will be at Pukatja tomorrow to answer any other question you might have.

Noting the weekend of June 6/7 is an all of competition bye due to the Finke Races.
The Don McSweeny Cup game is in Adelaide on Thursday 4th June.

Rd 5 Fixture
Noting that umpires must be supplied by the teams playing on the same day for both Softball & Football.
i.e At Kalka, Pipalyatjara & Fregon must supply one umpire each to umpire the Mutitjulu v Pukatja game. Then Mutitjulu & Pukatja must supply one umpire each for the Pipalyatjara v Fregon game.
The same for both the Imanpa & Ernabella venues. T

At the recent Board Meeting start time were discussed and it was decided that each game must start no later than 30 minutes after the schedule start time otherwise a forfeit will be declared.

Urgent notice:
At today’s APY League Board Meeting it was unanimously agreed to postpone the Rd 4 fixture and reschedule this round during the July 11th & 12th weekend.

Rd 4 Fixture.

Forward notice is given about this weekend’s round (Rd4 attached) of APY Sports League matches which will be discussed at Thursday's board meeting.
Due to business moving through the area and the Santos Aboriginal Power Cup in Adelaide a decision will be made about either continuing with the Round as fixtured or postpone the round until later in the season.
Thanks for your understanding and I will post the decision after the meeting.
