💙 An awesome effort from our Aquatics Team over February for the Starlight Super Swim Challenge!

📣As a team, we swam just over 175km!
Shout out to the incredible Tara Boarders, who contributed to this achievement with 6,825km of swimming. 🥳

- Today our Learn to Swim families marked R U OK? Day with a simple feelings check-in.

The sign was designed to help parents start a gentle conversation if their child chose something other than “happy.” It was wonderful to see parents and friends pause at the table to chat and listen 💛💬🏊

✨Asking “Are you OK?” can make a big difference—let’s keep the conversations going, today and every day.

🏊‍♀️ Our squads at Tara Aquatic Centre are going from strength to strength—and much of that success is thanks to the leadership of our Squad Coach, Peter.  

With over 45 years of coaching experience, Peter brings a wealth of knowledge to our Squad program. He holds an Advanced Silver License in coaching and has assisted coaching State and National swimmers to success. He has also been Head Coach for the Special Olympics swim team, where he played a pivotal role in the development of athletes with special needs.  

Since joining Tara, he’s played a key role in developing our squad swimmers—helping them grow in technique, confidence and competitive focus.  From building strong foundations to preparing swimmers for the next level, Peter’s influence is being felt across the pool. We’re proud of how far our squads have come and excited for what’s ahead.

This World Drowning Prevention Day, Swimming@Tara is proud to stand with Australia and global efforts to end drowning.

Next week, we invite you to wear blue with us in swim lessons, to raise awareness and show your support for this important cause.

Here’s how you can take action:
• Enrol in swimming lessons
• Supervise children at all times around water
• Check your pool fence and gate
• Avoid alcohol and drugs around water
• Wear a lifejacket when on the water
• Know the conditions
• Learn CPR
• Train to become a swim teacher or pool lifeguard
