Lagoon session today 🤷‍♀️ A massive swell has arrived in Mauritius and the ocean has gone wild! You can probably see the wave behind me in this video 🎥. It was too dangerous and tricky to pass through the channel 🙅‍♀️ with the easterly wind, strong current 🏴‍☠️, and heaps of seaweed ⛔️. Safety first🛟 I chose to play in the lagoon and do some fun stuff 🤩to avoid ending up in Madagascar or South Africa 🫣 A few people were close to being swept away, but luckily, the rescue boat 🛟 arrived on time.😮‍💨 ‼️There are probably only 5 people on the whole island who would take the risk and drive the boat in such crazy conditions to save others. BIG respect and shoutout to them 🙏🙏🙏. Waves on fire 🔥🚀 A massive swell arrived in Mauritius in June, and it seems like another one is coming this week 🥳🤞. I won’t lie - riding a big swell on a foil is scary,🫣 even if you’ve accomplished decent level of skills, things can still go wrong very fast 💨. Each hour I spend in the water builds my experience and confidence, but in those kinds of conditions, you still need to watch your back all the time.😅 What I’ve noticed from my own experience is that going too far out of my comfort zone too fast is not worth it, as the level of fear 🫣 and anxiety starts to be way too high compared to having fun 🤩. The ‘go hard or go home’ 🔥🚀 mentality works when you build your skills safely, so take baby steps, folks😊 The next video will include all the ride to the end with my epic crash 💥.
