A learn behaviour that sits deep in the nervous system and even when you think you have it sorted, it shows up on the shadows like a sneaky stalker.

I’ve always said my job as a mother was to raise my kids to leave me.
To raise humans who could think for themselves, lead themselves, back themselves and walk bravely into life without me holding their hand every step of the way.
🔥 Dependancy creates independence!
Well… apparently the universe heard me and said:
“Cute. Let’s test that.”
Watching my son train for his military entry test has cracked me wide open in ways I didn’t expect.
There’s the mum in me that wants to pull him closer, keep him safe, freeze time for just a little longer.
And then there’s the leader in me… the woman who knows exactly what courage looks like… watching him step willingly into challenge, discipline, growth and responsibility with absolute pride.
It’s a strange thing.
To spend years building someone strong enough to leave… and then realise your own heart has to learn how to let go.
But this is the goal, isn’t it?
Not to raise children who stay small enough to keep us comfortable.
But to raise humans brave enough to become fully themselves.
God, I’m proud of you kid!!!!
Even if my heart’s having a minor protest about it.😭
